The vertical construction of this four floor house design for two brothers seeking separate living spaces within a single structure is a testament to innovative architectural solutions. The exterior’s symmetrical design, accentuated by large glass windows at the double-height ceiling area, creates a striking visual impact while allowing ample natural light to flood the interior spaces. A neutral colour palette is employed throughout, with the gates painted in red to provide a fresh and vibrant contrast.
Editor’s Note: “Featuring a striking facade, this Vadodara residence embraces high ceilings adorned with vibrant splashes of colour. The interiors are subtly crafted and uniquely designed, punctuated by exquisite artwork and captivating paintings. An exceptional selection of materials and textures further enhances the allure of this home.” ~ Simran Khare

The exterior railings of the house showcase a unique touch, featuring perforated MS steel instead of traditional glass. This choice not only adds a modern aesthetic but also offers durability and a distinctive look. Inside, all the wooden furniture pieces are crafted from reclaimed wood, adding sustainable and rustic charm to the interior design.
Upon entering the house, guests are greeted by a stunning display of Kota flooring in herringbone style, complemented by a cozy seating area with armchairs and a beautifully carved traditional swing.
The neutral colour palette throughout the house is accentuated by red-painted gates, adding a fresh and vibrant touch. Additionally, the armchair seats and planters are painted blue, adding to the overall aesthetic appeal.
Both brothers shared identical requirements and design preferences, leading to the division of the house into four floors. The first and second floors were allocated to one brother, interconnected for convenience, while the third and fourth floors were designated to the other.
Each set of floors mirrored the other in structural design. It is also interconnected by a main staircase and lift, ensuring easy movement between levels.
The ground floor is dedicated to the grandparents’ bedroom, featuring walls made of cow dung plaster texture and brick flooring. A bold and bright focal point is created with the use of a red coloured bed and bed back. Thus, adding a vibrant touch to the room.
On the first and second floors, a minimal and modern theme stays, characterized by lime plaster walls, raw textured concrete ceilings, and Kota stone flooring. The semi covered living room boasts a double-height ceiling, enhancing the sense of spaciousness and openness.
Reclaimed wood furniture with a pop of blue colour adds a contemporary flair to the rooms. Each bedroom features a CNC-cut bed back, reclaimed wooden furniture, and accents of pink and blue, with embossed patterns on the raw textured concrete ceilings adding visual interest.
Furthermore, the third and fourth floors echo the design language of the first and second floors, maintaining consistency throughout the house. The kitchen on these floors also stands out with its bright and playful green-coloured glossy acrylic sheets. Thus, adding a lively element to the space. Moreover, each pair of floors includes three bedrooms, all following the same design principles and aesthetics.
In summary, this four-floored house showcases the harmonious integration of modern design elements and functional living spaces. Through careful planning and attention to detail, the architects have created a residence that not only meets the needs of its inhabitants but also reflects their individuality and style preferences.
