  • Envisage: Pioneering the Vintage and Retro Revival Trend in Modern Design

Envisage, an esteemed Interior and Architecture firm, has consistently demonstrated its ability to stay ahead of industry trends. One of the most notable trends forecasted by WGSN’s 2024 report is the “Vintage and Retro Revival.” Envisage has not only embraced this trend but has also set new benchmarks. This was done by seamlessly integrating timeless vintage elements into contemporary spaces.

    Celebrating Vintage Elements

Envisage’s dedication to the “Vintage and Retro Revival” trend is not merely about following a trend. It is about honouring design’s historical roots while infusing modern elements. This philosophy adds character and depth to their projects. It also resonates with clients who appreciate the charm and nostalgia of vintage design.

Showcase Projects: A Testament to Timeless Design

    1. The Kaivanai House:

Completed in 2023, this project beautifully merges South Indian traditions with contemporary design. The house features 125-year-old recycled Chettinad pillars, salvaged and refinished from junkyards in Karaikudi. These pillars adorn the foyer, embodying sustainable practices and paying homage to the region’s rich cultural heritage.

    The Ramayana House:

Located in Shalimar Paradise, Lucknow, this house is an exquisite tribute to the Indian epic, Ramayana. Completed in 2022, the transitional spaces, including the staircase and passageway, reflect the essence of Ayodhya Kand. The passage floor is adorned with a mosaic mimicking a forest bed, while a black and white Madhubani mural portrays forest scenes from the epic.

    2. Atulya:

    Retro Revival

Inspired by a traditional “baithak,” this family room, completed in 2022, features a low Jaisalmer stone seat, rustic-coloured accents, and a Benaras city landscape on the wall. Vintage details like a grandfather clock, a chess nook, and cosy garden views create a warm, unique living area.
