With great expectations from the 3D, the husband-wife duo found themselves reflected in the 1500 square feet house of pure “blues, grays, and golden patterns.” The apartment takes inspiration from a Modern Life concept house with the decor mirrored and metallic enhancing the look of the room and also doubling the light.
“A client with fine taste and his daughter who loved arches in pink is all I needed for the kickstart,” says designer Rohit Sikri who took over an apartment in Emaar DigiHomes and flipped it into a strikingly stylish apartment for the family of three.
This 1500 Square Feet House Is A Reflection Of Pure Blues, Grays, And Golden | RSAA Studio
This house is a beautiful result of color blocking paired up with lively wallpapers, hence creating distinct functional areas. However, achieving a sense of stability to balance the popping blues with the golden fixtures proved quite successful in the end.
By embracing the principles of simplicity, harmony with nature, functionality, comfort, flexibility and sustainability, our team created a timeless and elegant home that enriches the lives of its occupants while respecting the environment. Recognizing that the needs and preferences of the occupants may change over time, the designs of the house need to be flexible and adaptable, ensuring that the house remains relevant and functional for years to come. The philosophy behind this minimalistic ornamentation with neutral tones promotes calm and tranquility, creating a serene environment that enhances relaxation and clarity of thought.
The entrance of this home embodies a contemporary yet timeless aesthetic. It further celebrates the beauty of natural materials while prioritizing simplicity and functionality in its design. The minimum entry with wood as highlighter maintains a tactile connection to the natural world. They seamlessly integrated the entrance with the surrounding landscape, using native plants and organic materials to soften the transition between the built environment and the natural world. Perhaps a pathway of strategically placed planters would provide the much needed garden features.
Being a small living space, we had to transform into a compact yet stylish and functional environment. This also met the needs of its inhabitants.
They left the furniture settings open to avoid congestion. The yellows and blues helped us create a sense of cohesion and airiness in the living space.
Lighter shades of pale grays and blues reflect natural light and this complemented our idea of the room to feeling larger, while pops of color were highlighted through the accent furniture. The painting in the dining room is the cherry on top!
A bedroom with a subtle pink theme was the vision of the daughter. Overall, this involved creating a space that was both elegant and youthful. Furthermore, it incorporated elements of color while maintaining a balanced and calming atmosphere.
To make the bedroom feel truly unique and reflective of the girl’s personality, we considered incorporating personalized touches such as artwork, photographs, and decorative accents that showcased her interests. These elements added character to the space and made it feel more personal and inviting.
The couple who loves the sound of nature wanted a tranquil and rejuvenated space that brings the outdoors inside. Maximizing the natural light of the surrounding landscape is essential in a nature-inspired bedroom. Hence, the glass doors that opened onto a patio provided panoramic views of the outdoors.
We played quite well with small storage spaces that maximized functionality without sacrificing style. To further add visual interest to the room’s architecture modular storage units were customized as per the client, to fit the storage needs.
I take all my inspiration from nature. Being a fan of calming, organic interiors, you will always find the natural materials like wood, stone, and plants in my design. A lot of my ideas come from art – I believe art can tell a story and imbue your space with meaning!
Since it was a small space, every square inch was carefully planned to ensure efficient use of space. The furniture placement was arranged to maximize usable floor space while still allowing for comfortable movement throughout the room.
