  • The Process of Design is a Gradual Outcome | Less is MORE-Architects & Interior Designers

The thought process of design starts on day 1, after we visit our site. It is a process of design practice where the project has a gradual outcome. 20 year-old bungalow renovation with an outer façade as well as an interior was a great challenge. Interiors needed to be cohesive with the existing mould of architectural design.

    process of design

The initial thought process was to demolish the 1st floor balcony sloping roof slab, but we kept it intact, giving it a vernacular look with brick cladding facades and as tough as natural-looking elements with the front side lawn area merging with terracotta bricks.

Outdoor landscaping with river-washed granite and an entrance porch (M.S. Structure) with minimal design enhances the overall outlook of the bungalow.

    Living Space

The living spaces are cohesive to other areas of common spaces for living, dining, puja, and kitchen.

A circular wooden element is visible from every corner of the ground floor area, which is the centre, or what we can call the “punch line” of the design process.

    Dining Space

The dining area with wooden ceiling and bronze mirror reflects the dining identity and its creativity combing modern day interiors with contemporary look.

Interiors have been thought of with a sense to keep outdoors and indoors to be kept in hand, and nature to be felt from inside views too.

The 1st floor is a combination of lounge areas and bedrooms and is connected well with a mini home theatre with an overlooking screen from the bath tub, which adds to the luxury of the room, as well as fitness rooms in the 1st floor area.

    Master Room

The master bedroom opens up with a small vestibule and dressing area, and it also has a huge balcony overlooking the green pasture of the bungalow.

The self-sustaining master bedroom combines all modern-day amenities with a walk-in wardrobe and a huge attached toilet.
