    Concept note:

Bringing nature back to the home, although it is not a new idea but, during lock-down we rediscovered the essential value of our houses. We realized once again our need for more outdoor areas, balconies and rooftops to exercise and practice our hobbies.

The need to freely breakout to enjoy open-air spaces and connect with nature and neighbour’s has become more desirable than ever during the pandemic.

    Design Process:

A house that brings nature back to the city, promoting shared spaces and social dialogue between its residents is what inspired us to design the ‘’garden house’’.

Our design emphasizes the potential for private urban gardens and the microclimates they create to improve living conditions within cities and slow global warming.

Not hiding behind fences and fully glazed on one side, our proposal further aims to form a physical connection to the green area.

Moreover, we designed to seek and to establish a unified relationship between the neighborhood, the private garden and our house.

The Garden is developed on north eastern side of plot as to welcome uninterrupted morning sunlight into the house. Overall, the glazing opens up towards the garden which provide beautiful view and pleasant daylight throughout the day.

This house is designed with double height living space to connect with residents on multiple levels. Common living area on both levels ensures residents will have more space to spend leisure time together and every room with balcony/sit out adds charm to overall house.
