The strategic design of the space is organized without compromising on the house theme or aesthetics. Signature ceiling light fixtures, colourful display art on the side wall and a foyer table with a free standing umbrella and accessory holder along with storage drawers make the entryway warm and welcoming.
The large white main door and the vertical striped wall paneling on the sides and ceiling draw the eyes upward. This creates a light, airy space at the entrance. There is a jaali/ stencil pattern of the fretwork on the white door panel of the main double door. This makes the house theme ornate and inviting.
The Space is Organized Without Compromising On The House Theme | go Beyondwalls
Congregation is at the heart of this living room and sets the tone and theme of the entire house. Mili has given this space a modern touch by aesthetically mixing tones and textures as per the house theme.
The thoughtfully juxtaposed geometric pattern decorative wall panel, along with clean, simplistic furniture designs, make the room visually intriguing.
Rich vertical wooden flute patterns on opposite walls offer a more nuanced take on the aesthetics of the sage green furniture and neutral palette. The neoclassical accent chair with traditional motifs in dark blue adds a vibrant boost to the space. This overall complements the subtle grey upholstered sofa.
A geometric trellis patterned rug in an earthy brown colour adds a fresh burst to the creative styling of the living space.
A pair of wooden centre tables with a sturdy iron base and cane webbed mesh design brings in a happy balance between subtly and statement.
The designer has thoughtfully accessorized this living room with decorative accents to make it appear warm and welcoming.
The dining area is given a lush look by juxtaposing the statement light fixture and dousing the wall with a large rectangular decorative mirror.
This power play creates a visual expanse, thus making the space appear brighter and airier than it already is. Not only does this visually striking arrangement add character to the room, but the reflective mirror also helps bounce the light just about right.
The wooden 6-seater dining table has a solid wooden tabletop and iron leg base. Further, making it look elegant and effortlessly blend into the space. The dual tone upholstered chairs on a wooden frame with curved edges not only make seating comfortable but also make sliding in and out easy and effortless.
Pooja corner being the revered area provides an intimate space for the owners to practice spirituality and devotion. The large OM brass and wood decorative motif sets an apt backdrop over the sage green wall paneling.
The white marble statues at the center of the elevated podium on the chest of drawers make the space appear seamless. The corner is kept minimal and free of obstruction for the movement of energy. This indeed brings in and retains peaceful vibes.
While designing the space, Mili paid extra attention to the kitchen; the heart of the home. The efficiency of this kitchen beautifully collides with the overall decor and theme.
This galley kitchen concept has two kitchen platforms, along with wall cabinets that run parallel to one another. White marble flooring and a white and black checkered tiled kitchen backsplash not only make the area elegant and posh, but also make it appear airy. However, the kitchen airiness is extremely important in a small kitchenette.
Chic dark olive cabinetry complements the white marble countertops to glorify the galley area. Paired with the right splashback lighting, this design defines simplicity with class.
Further, the use of glass for cabinets on one side and an integrated sink on the other complements the aesthetics of this space-saver. Covered pull-out units are a great option for maximizing storage space. Especially in lower cabinets, as they allow easy access to the stored items.
An open wall shelf seamlessly blends below the glass cabinets for quick access to frequently used items like crockery and cups.
The designer selected the classic bold navy blue along with gold to make this room more homey and elegant. The relaxed bedroom space with its rich array of wood accents, textures and tones gives a transitionally-modern look. The furnishings have clean, soft lines and the bedding, lighting and accessories are fresh and soothing.
The pale white walls and marble tiles along with the high-contrast harbor blue upholstered headboard with an eye-catching diamond pattern, create a more nuanced take on this space.
The pale pink bedlinen and the light coloured edge to edge sheer curtains make the room voluminous. The vertical wooden wall paneling deftly balances out the high, slatted blue accents on the furniture and fixtures.
To increase the amount of natural light cast around the bedroom, the designer considers the large, curved vintage wall mirror with metal framing to reflect and harness the daylight. This overall house theme creates the illusion of a larger space.
The striped LED lighting on the ceiling and across one side of the wall adds a sense of playfulness to the room.
The Child bedroom has a minimalistic design. With straight lines and a combination of sky blue and deep grey colour themes. This stands out as a personalized, compact space. The furniture fittings along with the alphabet monogram door knobs, add a great personal touch to the space. The large wardrobes are created for extra storage space for the growing years.
The study table along with the chest of drawers and display unit is to have a clutter free organized space to exhibit the knick-knacks.
The headboard with geometric patterns in masculine colours – heavy hues of greys, charcoals, blacks and browns bring in an element of vibrant energy to the room. The oval shaped mirror complements the busy headboard and helps to bring in the balance.
Mili added a striking neon sign board to the blank wall. Additionally, she added a pinch of spunk to the boys room who are crazy for cricket. This “less is more” approach to design is reflective of Mili’s eye for personalization and detailing.
The teal blue decorative wall cladding adds a visual intrigue to the accent wall on one side of the balcony. The swing chair creates a perfect spot to relax on the balcony patio and immerse yourself in the openness and greenery.
The dark brown coloured floor tiles are a delightful ambiguity that complements the transparent glass railings. Mili has accessorized the space with floating shelves, indoor plants, the metal chimes and the wicker wall hanging lamp shade that elevates the aesthetics of this outdoor space.
The blue hued tiles of the washroom impart a big-night-sky effect and bounce the light of the wash basin area. The sintered glazed floor and wall tile in multi-coloured geometric patterns add elements of style and layering to the small bathroom area.
In the master washroom, Mili has used half-and-half technique by using white cement Terrazzo wall tiles along with oxide blue metal brick glossy tiles to accentuate the space. Glass partitions are used to demarcate the toilet and bathing area. Accent lights along with vanity lights are used across the washrooms to create a warm ambiance and give a larger appearance to the private space.
