Mrs. Sudharma is a Bharatanatyam dancer and Mr. Akshay is a Mirudhangam player. They wanted their home and studio with plenty of artistic spaces that would help them in their creative process. They brought 2 apartments at the Appaswamy Clover and wanted to combine them together.
‘Sudharma’ is Fulfilled with Artistic Spaces | Vibrant Spaces
Client wanted to have two separate spaces. One as “The Space of Art” and another into “The Space of Life”. So we created one space as more Traditional way and another into a contemporary theme.
Every part of the house has different thought process and we put them together to create this artistic space.
They wanted a wall to be painted with a “Kolam” design where it includes mathematical calculations to bring into a reality.
Clever planning, design fusions and an energetic colour palette, this apartment in Clover By The River is one that features a modern style with a traditional twist.
We designed this home to serve the needs of our classical dancer and musician clients who wanted their home to have elements of the classical arts mixed with contemporary minimalism under one roof.
They also wanted their Pooja unit in their studio space to attract more calmness into their space as well as to their mind.
The portable pooja room set pays homage to the classical arts and can be wheeled out with ease during dance sessions. The client was very happy that they had a home that is not just their abode but an expression of themselves.
The client had a lot of memories of their grandmother and mother, so we created the “Saree door” which incorporated miss Sudharma’s grandmother and mother’s sarees. The sarees were sandwiched between the glass and wood panels which became the perfect studio door.
The cane webbing on the ceilings along with a brick-textured design in the living room adds a unique touch to the home. The home also features wallpaper from Sabyasachi’s collection and wall kolam art adds a touch of traditional sophistication to the space!
The bedrooms were given a contemporary design aesthetic, including warm and cool accent walls, subway tiles, and metallic fittings reminiscent of old Hollywood glamour.
They wanted to add lots of rustic wooden artifacts and furniture in their studio space like rattan wardrobe, rustic wooden seaters and a display unit.
We also made a masterpiece traditional wooden door with lot of carvings.
