Creating a truly captivating and luminous space, Krishnayan exemplifies the fusion of contemporary minimalist architecture with traditional aesthetics capturing the ideal amount of sunshine. The architecture of the house focuses on open spaces, large windows, and skylights, allowing ample sunlight to filter in throughout the day. Modern materials, sophisticated surfaces and neutral tones make up for the aura of this home. Because it’s a South facing property, the default requirement was to create spaces to let in ample sunlight. The design brief was simple – The clients have their roots from culturally rich Udaipur, Rajasthan and wished to retain the vibes yet blending contemporary aesthetics.

The house is conceived in three levels-Ground floor consists of formal and informal living areas, dining and kitchen, guest bedroom and utility area. On the first floor are the bedrooms-master bedroom and kids rooms along with a terrace. The third floor area encloses a spacious room and an open study & library that opens to the terrace through wood-and-glass paneled doors, “which give a notion of an enclosure that can open up completely, blurring the boundaries of the inside from the outside,”

These furniture and artwork elements find a unique dedicated space all over the project. Right from entry foyer to the passage, all these areas have distinctly different moods of art selection. Keeping in mind our client’s lineage of Udaipur, the walls are adorned with pichwai paintings, to connect the home to their roots!

By adopting a minimalist and neutral color scheme, the interior of the house exudes an open and tranquil ambiance. This provides a sense of spaciousness and also serves as a blank canvas for adding vibrant and colorful furniture tapestry & artifacts that infuse energy and warmth into the living spaces.

The entire furniture in classic teak wood is customized as per the functionality and  preference of the client for each room and area speaks of refined luxury.

The ground floor has landscaped narrow passage, Buddha statue and the water body overlooking the lounge and dining area creates visual calmness and blurs the boundaries of the inside from the outside, creating a sense of vastness.

The family area defines a new association space for the members in the house. The stunning furniture in earthy shades and the height achieved through the double elevation at the dining area makes the space monumental. The pretty decorative elements in every corner go well with the chic adornment.

The double heighted dining area creates an open and inviting space that connects seamlessly to the first floor.

With thoughtful personal touches in each bedroom, we have created a space that guarantees unparalleled comfort for every dweller. The Italian marble gives a rich appearance to the house floor and some amazing looks have been created on the walls through the panels in different materials.

A harmonious blend of soft neutrals – whites, creams, and grays – sets the foundation for a sophisticated atmosphere adding warmth and depth to the space, while unexpected bursts of vibrant and pastel hues bring a touch of playfulness through carefully curated accent pieces like artwork, lamps, and plush throw pillows.

The lighting design of the spaces was carefully tailored to the specific context. Each area is equipped with both direct and indirect lighting options, allowing for seamless switching between different activities and ensuring optimal illumination at all times.

The clients wanted a space crafted to resonate with their lifestyle, which revolves around books, plants & serenity. And so we created a world upstairs where one can immerse oneself and indulge in the pleasure of nature and knowledge-a beautiful terrace garden is created where the brightly interspersed greens add their own natural warmth to the cozy library space where one wants to have me-time alone with the favorite book.
