  • House of Reflections is a Blend of Nature and Quiet Luxury, where the Natural Elements take the Center Stage | Architecture for All | AA

Editor’s Note: Immersed in an accent of absolute sophistication, this home is all things plush and richly polished. As one side of the space faces the jaw-dropping views, the other side is laced in shades of calm, beige and faint gold. The striking spark of wallpaper is evident in the utility and bedroom areas. The media room is highlighted with deep ocean blue couches, facing a T.V unit that is embossed with black marble having veins, as if to imitate the waves of the sea. ~ Nishal Sevak(Co-Editor)

Situated on the 18th floor, the ‘house of reflections’ as we fondly call it, has spectacular views of the sea. The stunning seascape and the plentiful natural light shaped our design brief, to create light and airy spaces with a sort of quiet luxury to it. The fluted white main door opens into an ante space with the foyer on one side and the Pooja on the other. House of Reflections is a blend of nature and quiet luxury, where the natural elements take the center stage along with the sea.

The foyer is reminiscent of the seaside location. The ombre wall mimics the ocean waves merging into the sandy shores. The backlit round mirror reflects the spaces around, creating the illusion of a larger foyer.

The bright blue skies form the backdrop of the living room. The beveled bronze mirror wall, a feature wall of the living, brings in even more natural light and views through its reflections.

The tan leather Stanley sofa adds a pop of color to an otherwise muted palette of beiges and greys. Minimal gold accents add an understated luxurious feel. The swing acts as a spatial divider between the living and the dining.

The monolithic dining table is a statement piece, carved out from a block of Statuario Esil white marble. The suede armchairs complement the white.

The living and the dining bronze mirrors reflect each other and the outdoors, creating bright and open interiors. The champagne suede panels add to the opulence of the space.

The kitchen layout was redesigned to completely open into the dining. The fluted glass sliding system acts as a moving wall, giving the flexibility of a closed and an open kitchen.

The herringbone wood flooring creates warmth. The wood and brass elements add vibrance to the achromatic palette of the kitchen.

The bar nook is tucked away, behind the foyer wall. The hanging unit of brass pipes and wooden ledges, hover over the St Laurent black marble counter. The bronze mirrors envelop it all. The profile lights under the ledges appear to stretch endlessly, creating an infinity mirror illusion.

Adjacent to the bar nook, is the AV Room. This is designed to be plush, with an ink blue lounger facing the Brazilian cosmic marble TV wall. The lounger is designed to be modular, each piece can be rearranged to create a chaise lounge, a three seater sofa or a bed.

Having the best sea view in the entire house, the AV room is designed for ultimate comfort and grandeur, functioning as both a family lounge as well as a space to entertain guests.

The powder room is a stark contrast, with its deep red and gold wall mural that flows across the walls.

The master bedroom’s design is directed more towards combining serenity with luxury. The olive green bed is set against a tropical wall mural. The adjacent wardrobe is camouflaged as a bronze mirror, showcasing the lovely seascape.

The House of Reflections attempts to blend luxury and nature – to create a subtle elegance that leaves room for natural elements to take the center stage.
