In this house in nature, we try to capture the essence of nature through subdued elements that inspire us. However, here at The Nature’s Nest, the space truly encompasses a forest at large, within which rests our precious and cosy nest.
This House in Nature Captures The Essence Through Subdued Elements | Tan Teal Studio
The entrance boldly expresses its presence in a solid black door with a little peeping window, just as one would find a cavity window in the dense, large trees. Stepping inside the threshold is the transitional area, where a utility shelf topped with organic mirrors reflects the interior as well as the exterior.
The living room is a play of colours, textures, and lights in harmony with each other, balanced through the essential furniture pieces. The primary wall of the space stays in continuity with the palette of the foyer. The addition of the deep wooden fluted rafters breaks the bestrewn of green.
The wallpaper against the dining table adds a framework to the whole setup, with profile lights highlighting the print upon it and the chandelier right over the table adding a sense of luxury to the unit.
In continuity to the living room setup, the Kitchen makes its way through a black- framed metal door. Right into the lap of a bold and beautiful kitchen, quite stark in its nature and utility. The terrazzo finish tiles for the dado add the perfect amount of play to the space, which captures the dark tones of wood and black in its nest.
Landing first through the passage, the Guest Bedroom is yet another vista, being truly honest to its theme. The sheer brown wall represents the essence of the house, while the white framing adds a subtleness to the bold colour it rests in.
The detailing of the wardrobe is to be captured in form and pattern. The finely fluted rafters in black, surprisingly acting against their general bold nature, are calming in between the bright green frame. The niched mirror in the centre breaks the continuity of the vivid palette it rests between while also carrying storage space behind it.
Terminating Nature’s Nest is truly the ultimate canvas in the form of the master bedroom. Behind the thoroughly cushioned bed is the framed wallpaper capturing the nature this nest rests in. Depicting a luscious forest, one couldn’t encompass the story of this house through a lens any better. Below the wallpaper, the wooden rafters stay in visual continuity with the living room. The wardrobe carries shutters in a non-bulky manner by sandwiching sheer linen fabric between glass, maintaining its luxury yet natural-ness.
An attempt at being a part of nature while being enveloped in the concrete jungle, the Nature’s Nest creates a desirable space one would love to be in to feel the calm, nature, luxury, and boldness all at once.
