Client Brief

The client’s vision was concise: a home abundant in light and spatial continuity – open yet intimately connected. The response to this brief lies in a striking architectural move – a 25-foot vertical incision carved into the slab, forming a soaring double-height volume at the heart of the home. This architectural gesture goes beyond mere connection between floors; it acts as a spatial lung, inviting natural light, promoting ventilation, and creating a visual anchor that gives the interiors a sense of buoyancy and evokes emotion.

Embracing verticality as an experiential language, the design layers sightlines, spatial volumes, and light movement, creating a setting that feels immersive and alive. From the outside, the cantilevered library nook and the floating balcony become defining gestures, projecting the internal story through a composition of solid masses and voids. These elements not only add sculptural depth and shadow play to the facade, but also extend the home’s presence into the streetscape. Ultimately, this house is a poetic balance of form and void, where architecture transcends utility and becomes a vessel of emotion, identity, and atmosphere.

Defined by a Modern Contemporary vocabulary, the home features clean-lined geometry softened by warm textures and curated sculptural details. The aesthetic leans into soft minimalism, with layered elegance and tactile richness lending the interiors both restraint and character.

Entrance

The teal-panelled main door, accentuated by a bold brass handle, opens into a foyer defined by a fluted glass and brass screen – a delicate partition that maintains openness while introducing subtle separation. A carefully placed sculptural element creates a sense of curated drama, setting the tone for the home’s artistic sensibility.

Living Area

Set beneath a towering double-height panel, the living room reveals itself in a palette of rich textures – wood, stone, and neutral fabrics. A floating staircase, positioned against a custom sculpted relief wall, evokes emotion and anchors the space as an artistic centrepiece.

Bespoke furnishings, black marble inlays, and natural daylight filtering through sheer drapery all converge to create a space that feels grounded yet expansive – inviting, layered, and thoughtfully illuminated.

Dining Area

The dining zone is both intimate and architectural. A sleek marble tabletop, paired with curved-back chairs in black and ivory, forms the visual core. Behind, ribbed fluted glass shutters and mirrored niches add reflective depth, blending simplicity with a quiet sense of luxury. The atmosphere is restrained, yet deeply inviting – perfect for shared meals and conversation.

Kitchen

Minimal yet expressive, the kitchen merges monochrome drama with warm tactility. Black granite countertops and veined backsplash contrast with muted grey cabinetry and fluted shutters, while brass detailing punctuates the design with rhythmic sophistication. A central island provides functional ease, encapsulating the kitchen’s harmony of efficiency and design refinement.

Sculptural Powder Room

Compact in scale but bold in character, the powder room is a showstopper. Cloaked in berry pink and deep midnight blue, the walls feature vertical fluting that adds depth and rhythm. A geometric black-and-white tiled floor injects playful contrast, while a hand – carved organic stone basin, brushed brass fixtures, and a sliced vertical LED strip lend the space sculptural drama and a sense of theatricality. Here, functionality transforms into visual poetry.

Master Bedroom

A serene palette of sage green defines the master suite, brought to life through textural contrasts like fluted panelling and tailored mouldings. A tufted headboard, layered bedding, and dark wood details evoke comfort and intimacy.

Floating units, a customized shelving niche, and a linear TV wall with walnut accents provide elegant utility. The overall composition is calming yet nuanced – a timeless retreat rooted in quiet luxury.

Parents’ Bedroom

This room radiates softness and serenity through its blush-toned palette and gentle curves in wall panelling.

Drenched in natural light, the space is intentionally pared-back, celebrating calm through minimal ornamentation and a nurturing materiality. Designed for tranquillity, it is a cocoon of timeless elegance.

This residence is a masterclass in balancing material richness with sculptural grace. From the jewel-toned powder room to the meditative bedrooms and seamless living core, each space showcases an intricate interplay of texture, geometry, and form.
