Nestled strategically in the thriving Pimple Nilakh suburb of Pune, our architectural marvel transcends the conventional boundaries of urban development. This project represents more than just a building; it embodies visionary creation. With a commercial facade facing the main road and serenity flourishing in the residential expanse opposite, our mission was clear: harmonize the commercial façade with neighboring row houses and low-rise structures while ensuring elevated views for all.
Editor’s Note: “Transcending architectural norms, this project embraces aesthetics and the art of living. With angled terraces, thoughtful planning, and captivating landscapes, the design pushes boundaries. Every element harmonizes aesthetics and functionality, curating a refined experience for living.” ~Simran Khare
This Abode in Pimple Nilakh Pune Embodies a Visionary Creation | Sankalp Designers
The site’s creative zoning maximises our approach: commercial up front, residential in the middle, and a tranquil amenity space at the rear, offering a peaceful escape from the busy road. Clever design decisions, like the incorporation of double-height terraces, mitigate the impact of the western sun while infusing dynamism into the project.
The façade of a building is its defining feature, capturing the imagination of architects and developers alike. It serves as the canvas upon which the architectural identity is etched, influencing market appeal and narrating the building story.
Amidst the backdrop of a commonplace urban landscape, we aimed to craft a functional masterpiece that transcends established norms. Enter our pioneering angled terraces, which infuse the project with energy and aura.
These terraces are more than mere aesthetic elements; they stand as a testament to our unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of design. They introduce depth and dimension, breathing life into the urban panorama.
Our project’s balconies herald a shift in residential design conventions. These dynamic, slanted balconies introduce not only a visually captivating element to the façade but also challenge the prevailing norms of conventional design.
In an environment where creativity can sometimes be restricted by practical considerations, we seized the opportunity to make a resounding statement.
By quickly transforming balcony parapet walls into elegant planter beds, we ideally integrated nature into the architectural composition, giving the building a truly unique appearance. This stands as an exemplary demonstration of how subtle, deliberate changes can revolutionise architectural aesthetics.
Traditional building lobbies often leave much to be desired, especially in the context of the mundane housing societies that dot our cities. As architects, we recognise the potential to review these spaces, changing the focus from mere benefit to creating vibrant hubs of community interaction and enjoyment.
In our renewed lobby, the transformation is profound. No longer just an entry point, it has become a dynamic social center. It’s a place where residents can host meetings, greet guests, or plan playdates for their children, all within an environment that exudes style and comfort. This transformation not only raises the living experience but also fosters a stronger sense of community within the building.
Our project serves as a display, illustrating how small, meditative changes can yield significant impacts in the realm of architecture and urban design. While we acknowledge the constraints of general mass housing schemes in our cities, we firmly believe in the potential of subtle nuances to transform the narrative.
It’s about reaching extraordinary outcomes through minor changes. Our journey represents how small, thoughtful changes can revolutionize architectural aesthetics, breathing new life into everyday housing projects.
