The residence becomes an art gallery with strategically placed metal art pieces. Each narrates its own story, adding layers of cultural significance to the living spaces. Every corner unfolds a tale, turning the home into a canvas of memories.
Constructed primarily with concrete and brick, Thannal prioritizes natural cooling and sustainability within its interiors. The choice of materials not only ensures thermal comfort but also underscores the project’s commitment to eco-conscious design.
Upon entering Thannal, guests are greeted by a charupadi on the right side. This offeres a serene spot for family gatherings and moments of quiet reflection amidst lush landscaping. The exterior facade boasts a striking combination of stone cladding and a metal “Tree of Life,” setting the tone for the unique blend of rustic charm and modern aesthetics found throughout the home.
Inside, the flooring transitions seamlessly from Kota stone to Jaisalmer stone. With a thoughtful pattern under the stairs adding visual interest. The living room exudes warmth with its teal blue accents, teak wood pillars, and brick cladding, while a double-height ceiling enhances the sense of grandeur.
A statement chandelier and wall fans with teak wood finish further elevate the space. It creates an inviting atmosphere for relaxation and entertainment.
The staircase, crafted from teak wood with metal railings, leads to a landing adorned with random stone cladding, adding texture and character to the transitional space. Continuing into the dining room, guests are greeted by an ethnic console table and a towering wooden pillar. This subtly demarcating the different areas while maintaining an open and airy ambiance.
Cane furniture and modern accents infuse the dining room with a sense of casual elegance, complemented by a multi-functional console table that seamlessly transforms into a TV stand when needed.
Floral metal decor and a majestic chandelier draw the eye upward, accentuating the double-height ceiling and creating a sense of drama and sophistication. Adjacent to the dining room, a garden space beckons with its tranquil fountain and lush landscaping, providing the perfect backdrop for al fresco dining or leisurely gatherings with loved ones.
The kitchen, adorned with teak wood finishes, features a breakfast table for casual dining and ample storage for culinary essentials.
Bedrooms exude a serene ambiance, with wood and cane beds accented by Oorja lights that highlight the headwalls.
Teak wood wardrobes offer both functionality and elegance, while brick walls and wooden flooring evoke a sense of serenity and warmth.
In essence, Thannal by Montimers Architects is not just a home but a sanctuary—a testament to the seamless integration of traditional craftsmanship, sustainable design, and modern comforts, offering its inhabitants a haven of tranquility in the heart of the bustling cityscape.
Bedrooms offer a retreat to nature, featuring large windows that open to the soothing garden. Wardrobes crafted with cane contribute to the overall natural aesthetic, creating a harmonious blend of comfort and style.
Underfoot, Kota stone flooring grounds the entire home, with carefully inserted tiles in select areas introducing subtle breaks in the flow, enhancing the visual interest and character of the space.
