This property is located in Prestige Silver Springs, Akkarai, one of the most highly rated villa communities in Chennai. The beauty of this space lies in its proximity to the ECR beach, just a few meters away. The locality offers a serene and peaceful environment, away from the noise of city life. The property spans approximately 6,000 sq. ft. and features two stories in addition to the ground floor in this interior design style.
The Interior Design Style Of This Villa Offers A Serene Environment | Pratspaces. In – Interior Design Studio
The foyer features a long seating area and shutters showcasing farmhouse-style details, while stone cladding on the opposite wall creates a stunning backdrop for the foyer mirror and long console. Additionally, a crystal-based farmhouse-style chandelier adds a warm, inviting welcome to the home. Throughout the house, the décor elements were handpicked collectibles, carefully curated by the clients over the years from cities such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Canada.
In India, people believe that having a Ganesha idol in the house brings good luck and positive energy. For this home, we chose a corner in the living room for the Ganesha idol, setting it against a vibrant Sabyasachi red wallpaper backdrop. The beautiful white Ganesha sits high on a pedestal, with an ethnic pendant lamp hanging above, adding to the spiritual and aesthetic charm of the space.
In the living room, we positioned the round center table and ottomans together in one of the corners. Thus, leaving ample walking space in the center and allowing the beautiful carpet to be showcased. The shiplap panels seamlessly extended from the foyer into the living room and continued through to the dining area, maintaining a cohesive design flow.
Here again, instead of following the traditional route of placing a chandelier in the center of the main living room, we opted for the open indoor courtyard to showcase these beautiful chandeliers from Purple Turtle.
They perfectly complement the vibrant ethnic wallpaper, selected from Life and Colors for this space. A long teak wood bench enhances both the ethnic aesthetic and the seating capacity of the room.
In the square-shaped dining room, we selected a round dining table, placing a large chandelier directly above it for a striking centerpiece.
We continued the farmhouse-style cabinets and shiplap panels into the room’s crockery zone, creating a cohesive design.
A standout feature is the antique console unit from Wooden Street, which we topped with a decorative mirror from Wooden Twist, adding a charming touch to the overall decor.
The farmhouse style continues seamlessly in the master bedroom on the first floor of this villa. To enhance the triangular shape of the ceiling, the architect installed wooden pelmets, and then added wall paneling to all sides of the room, further defining the aesthetic.
For this spacious area, we designed a custom-made bed with a full-length upholstered headboard, complemented by full-height curtains and coordinating Roman blinds.
A striking chandelier adorned with delicate pastry beads from The White Tea Company serves as a stunning focal point in the room. Meanwhile, the same pastel beads echo in the wall lamps flanking the bed. Additionally, a cozy armchair and an elegant floor lamp create a charming seating nook in this large space.
I call these the “Stairs of Memories.” During our initial discussions, the clients mentioned that they had always stored away their extensive collection of family photos, accumulated over the years from travels, festive occasions, and social events. We decided to bring these cherished memories to life by displaying them along the entire length of the staircase. Now, as one walks up, they are taken on a journey through the family’s history. Moreover, where memories from the past unfold and many more are yet to come.
As we ascend the stairs, we enter the divine zone of the house, where we create a dedicated worship area for the couple’s prayers. This space features ethnic blues and paisleys, reflected in the rug and upholstery of the furniture. A custom-made marble temple with intricate, colorful inlay work was designed specifically for this sacred area. Moreover, it came to life as the statues of the worshipped deities are inside. Adjacent to the temple, a full-height library complements the temple area with its warm brown tones. Furthermore, it enhances the overall ambiance of this serene space.
The outdoor courtyards were meticulously designed to enhance the villa’s landscaping. To achieve this, we strategically chose and planted specific plants and trees in the front, side, and backyard of the house. Additionally, we included a Tulsi plant, also known as holy basil. It holds sacred significance in Hinduism and is believed to provide numerous health benefits. We chose a beautiful marble pot to showcase the Tulsi plant, placing it in the backyard to honor its significance and enhance the space’s overall aesthetic.
