The architects devised a strategic design where the service area was positioned in the middle of the bungalow. This arrangement was implemented to ensure ease of access and connectivity to all the spaces. By positioning the service area in the middle, accessibility to all living spaces was optimized, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of daily activities. It not only prioritized practicality but also contributed to the overall coherence and functionality of the bungalow, creating a living experience that embraced convenience without compromising on aesthetics.
Editor’s note: Shreekunj Residence has multiple layers of creative spirit ingrained within it. The entrance itself suggests the vivid and varying temperaments this house follows, the goodness of bricks, earthy tones, and minimal shades. The insides of the abode call for an effective case study, for the clash of different styles has never looked so amicable. Every bedroom has a story to tell, through its ideal state of design that has been executed and captured so affectionately. ~ Nishal Sevak

By positioning the service area in the middle, accessibility to all living spaces was optimized, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of daily activities. The picture reveals the integration of the compound wall with the bungalow’s design, merging it as an integral element of the architectural vision. As one progresses, a subtle yet purposeful transition unfolds, with the height of the compound wall gradually rising, which serves to enhance the aesthetics. Moreover, the plants on either side add to the beauty; creating a welcoming atmosphere. This curvilinear wall leads to an inviting foyer.
The outdoor verandah was equipped with a swing. This not only provided a place for evening relaxation but also maintained a connection to the main road, aligning perfectly with the client’s desire for tranquillity and accessibility.
However, what truly elevates this enchanting display is the clever placement of shimmering, cylindrical golden pipes behind the artefacts. These golden pipes are positioned in a way that partially hides or conceals the service area, making it less visible and more intriguing to visitors.
To ensure the residents’ fitness, relaxation, and rejuvenation, a separate area was designed. This space offers a soothing escape, allowing them to unwind and recharge in peaceful serenity. It features an array of amenities, including a swing, gym equipment, and a gazebo where one can unwind in tranquillity. The lush plantations surrounding this add a touch of natural beauty, creating a soothing ambience.
The defining feature of this space lies in its angular walls. They serve as a canvas for the play of light and shadow throughout the day.
The carefully curated partition glass that graces these angular walls acts as a portal to the lush greenery outside. This seamless integration of the interior with the exterior is an ode to modern design principles, where the barrier between inside and outside is elegantly dissolved. Moreover, the subdued grey hues evoke an air of sophistication.
The subtle glimmer of gold-tone from these pipes imparts a sense of warmth and luxury, instantly making visitors feel welcomed. The interplay of light and shadow adds a touch of drama, creating an immersive first impression.
As we step into the foyer, our attention is immediately drawn to two captivating human figures, tastefully placed as exquisite artefacts. These artistic pieces serve as a delightful introduction to the space, effortlessly adding an inviting allure to the entrance.
The periphery of the bungalow is surrounded by lush green plantations. This greenery smoothly integrates with the surrounding spaces, creating a picturesque view visible from every corner inside.
Moreover, this thoughtful landscaping design greatly enhances the connection between the indoor and outdoor areas; offering a delightful living experience immersed in the tranquillity of nature.
A standout feature in this bungalow is the staircase. The stairs are cantilevered from a robust RCC brick wall, showcasing a seamless blend of strength and elegance. Adding to its allure, the staircase boasts a one-of-a-kind V-shaped railing, elevating its aesthetic appeal to new heights.
An artefact thoughtfully placed along the railing enhances the staircase’s beauty, serving as a focal point that complements the overall design.
On the first floor, addressing the client’s need for both privacy and ambience in the balcony area, the architect incorporated a perforated brick wall. This creative solution served a dual purpose, ensuring the desired level of privacy while also infusing the space with an inviting atmosphere. The soft, minimal light filtering through the perforations created a captivating interplay of shadows and highlights, lending an artistic touch to the entire area.
As per the client’s requirement, the pooja room was designed in a separate and isolated area. The architects ensured that the Puja room stood out as its own peaceful and distinct space. Providing a serene and sacred ambience, it allows for spiritual reflection, away from the hustle and bustle of daily activities in the rest of the house.
This room is a heartfelt homage to tradition, thoughtfully designed to provide a warm and soothing space. As the room belonged to the grandparents, every element within this space has been carefully curated to encapsulate a traditional ambience.
The colour palette exudes warmth, featuring deep, rich hues. The furniture, crafted with intricate detailing, pays homage to classic designs that have stood the test of time.
The room showcases a blend of tradition and artistic flair, with its distinctive circular mirrors adorned by intricate metal designs that grace the walls behind the bed. These artefacts serve as focal points, instantly drawing attention with their shapes and meticulously crafted details.
The bed’s backdrop features a wavy design, crafted from a unique blend of two materials: sleek veneer and textured fluted MDF. This combination creates a contrast that adds both depth and visual interest to the bedroom space. Also, the presence of a white colour bestows a tranquil aura upon the room.
The master bedroom exudes a seamless blend of modern luxury and a strong connection with nature. The standout feature is the indoor-outdoor connection, bridging the interior comfort and the allure of the outdoors. The connected balcony, adorned with a carefully designed perforated screen, takes centre stage as a unique element of privacy and elegance.
Talking about colour combination, an exquisite blend of earthy palettes takes centre stage, featuring a combination of grey and orange tones. Mirroring the serene beauty of the natural world, these colours infuse the interior with a sense of calmness and warmth. The subdued greys create a pleasant backdrop, allowing the lively oranges to radiate energy and enthusiasm. Terracotta shade is used for flooring tiles. This thoughtfully curated colour selection not only establishes a profound connection with nature but also envelops the entire space in a welcoming and cosy ambience.
To cater to the client’s desire for a stronger indoor-outdoor connection along with abundant light, fresh air, and picturesque views into every corner of the house, the architect opted for expansive full windows. The result is a delightful living experience where nature’s beauty effortlessly intertwines with the comfort of indoors, creating a peaceful and refreshing ambience throughout.
