Situated on a rectangular corner plot in the burgeoning core of Sangli city, the residence is an architectural gem. It seamlessly blends contemporary design with thoughtful planning. Measuring 56’8″ x 36’5″, the plot’s orientation towards the north and west posed unique challenges. Particularly the need to accommodate setbacks while optimizing usable space. The entrance, framed by verdant landscaping, creates a composed welcome, while a dedicated parking area is efficiently positioned on one side. Every aspect of the design adheres to Vaastu principles, harmonizing spatial flow and functionality.
Sitting On A Corner Plot, This Home Blends Contemporary Design With Thoughtful Planning | Artimulation
The ground floor features an entrance foyer, a living room with an attached deck, a dining area, a kitchen, a pooja room, and a parent’s bedroom. The expansive openings in every room blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces, fostering a connection with nature. This creates a sense of tranquility in the corner plot house while acquiring natural light and ventilation in abundance.
The living room, thoughtfully proportioned, accommodates larger gatherings and effortlessly extends into the adjacent sit-out area for hosting intimate functions. The kitchen includes generous counter space, overhead storage, and a breakfast counter.
A nearby store room enhances practicality, while the rear setback serves as a utility area. At the heart of the ground floor lies a semi-open dining area, crowned by a skylight cutout from the first floor, stimulating interaction and visual continuity.
Ingeniously, the staircase headroom doubles as a powder room for guests, showcasing the meticulous utilization of space. The parent’s bedroom offers a walk-in wardrobe, an attached toilet, and a cozy window seat and stands out as a luxurious sanctum.
Ascending the staircase, one is greeted by the skylight’s radiant glow, which enlivens the corridor area, transforming it from a mere passage into a dynamic space. This level features a guest bedroom positioned above the kitchen, and a master bedroom designed as a private sanctuary, boasting a walk-in wardrobe, a jacuzzi, and a touch of indulgence.
The first floor’s pièce de résistance is the terrace sit-out, adorned with trellises and a pergola, offering a tranquil escape from the world. The interplay of light and shadow through the pergola cutout creates a contemplative atmosphere, perfect for relaxation.
The house’s interiors are bathed in subtle neutral beige tones, enhancing the perception of space and imbuing each room with a sense of calm. The contemporary design language resonates throughout, reflecting the owner’s refined taste.
Every detail, from doors and railings to skylights and partitions, is meticulously crafted, maintaining aesthetic coherence. The thoughtful coaction between positive and negative spaces not only enriches the facade’s architectural massing but also ensures a harmonious visual identity.
Externally, the house’s beige-tinted facade, complemented by terracotta jaalis, landscaped accents, and generous glass openings, reflects the serene interior palette. This cohesive approach gives the house its distinct identity as the House of Neutral Tones—a celebration of modern architecture that harmonizes form and function. The design seamlessly combines functionality and aesthetics, offering a spacious and light-filled environment that perfectly complements modern living.
