Part of the renowned Krishnendu Ayurveda Hospital, the ~21,000 sq. ft. Nirava Ayurveda Holistic Centre by Stapati, Bangalore is an oasis of healing — rooted in tradition, elevated by innovation. The masterplan unfolds in two distinct volumes: a villa block with twelve serene guest rooms and a curved spa block housing therapy suites, each sited to embrace the mature trees that define the site’s natural character.
Holistic Healing Finds Architectural Expression Through Kerala’s Vernacular Traditions | STAPATI
The spa’s sweeping arc, clad in slender vertical fins, filters dappled light into hushed interiors, while the villas open to private sit-outs overlooking lush gardens. Locally sourced laterite, warm timber, and handcrafted details are paired with clean modern lines, achieving a balance between Kerala’s vernacular charm and contemporary finesse.
Each villa room opens to a garden-facing sit-out, with full-height sliders drawing in daylight and breeze. Interiors combine textured, earth-toned feature walls with teak-toned joinery and louvered shutters; woven cane seating and custom upholstery lend a crafted Kerala tactility. Exposed concrete ceilings and stone floors keep the palette cool and minimal, softened by hand-loom rugs.
Bathrooms feature floating timber vanities, generous mirrors, and framed landscape views, with operable shutters for privacy. Covered walkways with slate-like flooring, pebble drains, and gentle ramps stitch rooms to gardens, ensuring comfort in all seasons.
Together, the villa and spa offer a nature-led, restorative experience where vernacular warmth meets modern precision.

Editor’s Note: Some places feel rooted because they belong to their surroundings rather than trying to stand apart from them. Coffee Sangam in Andhra Pradesh takes this approach through a raw, tactile palette of brick, stone, teak, and mild steel. The random rubble compound wall extends the landscape into the architecture, while the Corten steel […]
