Some projects begin with drawings; Queen’s Quarters began with conversations. In meeting three generations of women—daughters, a mother, and a grandmother—we discovered not just a family, but a quiet strength, individuality, and shared grace that inspired the entire vision. The goal was simple yet meaningful: to create a home where each woman feels like a queen in her own space—not through grandeur, but through warmth, subtlety, and soul.
Allium by Astha Bohra
Designed by Astha Bohra of Allium, Jaipur, the project for three generations is rooted in gentle expression and thoughtful design. It suggests intentionality, subtlety, and artistry—every element is handpicked, thoughtful, and quietly expressive.
This home for three generations is richly layered. It is a tactile and visual experience for those who observe closely. From the moment one enters, the layout flows gently—beginning with a drawing room that merges into the entrance passage, with no rigid separation except that defined by sheer curtains hanging through a Romanesque arch. This gentle transition of spaces mimics the natural rhythm of conversation and togetherness—never abrupt, always fluid.
A stunning modern botanical painting in warm yellow hues anchors the space, offering contrast to the soothing palette. The placement is deliberate—it offers a warm welcome and sets the tone for what lies ahead.
Curved ivory-beige sofas echo comfort and calm; light wooden paneling and gentle wallpaper add depth without overwhelming. The visual language is poetic, never excessive. It is a design that breathes alongside its inhabitants—a background to their everyday moments, yet a character in its own right.
The architects designed this place to not be rushed through; it invites pause. It encourages one to sit with a cup of tea beside a sunlit window, to trace the lines of a botanical sketch, to notice how shadows dance across a paneled wall in the afternoon.
The home breathes with light and life, and art fills every corner without ever overwhelming the space. A “curated” home speaks without shouting—an art lover’s haven where walls whisper stories and every corner invites reflection. The space acts like a living canvas, constantly engaging with its occupants, evolving gently as life flows through it.
The design embraces a restrained, modern French sensibility—fluid curves, botanical motifs, pale tones, and soft paneling—woven together with natural materials and filtered light. There is a sense of balance, where the decor doesn’t dominate but rather coexists harmoniously with everyday life.
Furniture remains muted and understated, allowing the art-laden walls to speak with clarity and grace. The beauty reveals itself in what remains unsaid—in the pauses between objects and the gradual unfolding of detail. Each corner offers a moment, an object, or a composition that quietly sparks thought, creating visual stories that emerge only when noticed in passing.
In this home, the tactile and the visual converge, offering a sensory richness that rewards close observation. There is a consistent dialogue between textures—plaster, linen, wood, and silk—that enriches the spatial experience.
Perched atop a serene terrace, this home theater lounge is a tranquil retreat that whisks you away to the land of the pharaohs. Araish paints dress the walls in hues of golden yellow, azure blue, and desert sand, evoking the majestic palette of ancient Egypt. Intricate wall art inspired by Egyptian hieroglyphics adds an air of mystique, transporting you to a world of mystery and wonder.
Queen’s Quarters is ultimately a quiet celebration of three generations of womanhood, of generational wisdom passed down not just in words, but in presence and grace. It’s a home built from conversation, memory, and emotion—infused with soul and crafted with care. Here, design doesn’t speak loudly, but it speaks volumes.
