    The Entryway

As patrons step through the maroon entryway, Cinephile Cinemas challenges the ordinary and evokes the essence of vintage cinema. In this article, we take a closer look at the project’s design and aesthetics that set it apart. The entryway serves as the gateway to a world of cinematic wonder.

The maroon-red space, accented with its floor and ceiling in the same striking hue, welcomes patrons with a vibrant energy. This space is not merely a corridor but a canvas for highlighting movie posters, product launches, and other special events. The use of maroon creates a sense of drama, setting the stage for the cinematic journey that lies ahead.

Moving forward, the grey flooring strips guides toward respective screens, creating a seamless transition into the heart of Cinephile Cinemas. This design choice, with its bold contrast, effectively marks a departure from the traditional, monotonous theater entrance.

    The lobby design

There is a novel approach to seating within the lobby. Instead of the typical marble or cushioned seats, Cinephile Cinemas has adopted staggered low seating arrangements. They are finished with mud-texture, and offer a welcoming space for patrons to wait, chat, or enjoy small gatherings.

The use of mud-textured walls, and terracotta bricks provides a rustic and tactile experience. It also adds depth to the design, inviting visitors to linger in anticipation of the movie screening.

    The thought-about flooring

The careful attention to detail paid to the flooring design is evident. Matt grey tiles, maroon-toned tiles, and vibrant yellow patterned tiles are strategically arranged to guide visitors toward the screens. The straight lines in the flooring function as a subtle guide, ensuring a seamless and intuitive flow. Exposed grey metal and rustic lights add an industrial element, creating an elegant environment with a touch of the avant-garde.

The food counters are crafted with minimal-toned cement boards and quartz counters. The use of concrete finishes and sleek metal accents adds a modern touch while maintaining a sense of minimalistic elegance.

    The infusion of material palette

The multiplex’s carefully curated material palette is noticeable. The design includes matte-finished tiles, mud-textured walls, concrete finishes, metal rafters in the ceiling, terracotta brick cladding, and even old cinema reels repurposed as chandeliers. The versatile use of these materials creates a sense of nostalgia while still embracing modernity.

Central columns, clad with metal mesh, serve as an ideal platform for posters and notices, contributing to the ever-changing aesthetics of Cinephile Cinemas. The fusion of these elements in the material palette creates a design that feels timeless and inviting.

    Vintage Cinema

There is a clever use of accent patterned tiles in front of the screens, guiding viewers effortlessly from the lobby entrance to their respective screening areas. These accents are not only functional but also add a sense of whimsy and charm to the space.

    The vintage touch

There has been a clever repurposing of old cinema benches. These refurbished benches exude a vintage feel, echoing the golden age of cinema. Old movie posters, reframed and displayed, invoke nostalgia for classic films, and offer a warm welcome to cinephiles of all ages.

Cinephile Cinemas is committed to infusing art into its design. Collaborations with artists have brought forth simple yet captivating artworks that further enrich the aesthetic experience of the multiplex. These artistic elements transform the space into a dynamic and ever-evolving canvas.

Art, design and for the love of cinema

In a brilliant fusion of art and design, the old cinema reels have been repurposed into chandeliers. These captivating installations serve as both functional lighting fixtures and artistic focal points, celebrating the rich history of cinema while embracing the future.

It stands as a testament to the creative genius of Studio HC and Ergate Architecture. Its unique design theme, revolutionary use of color schemes and materials, and its nod to vintage cinema make it a landmark in the world of multiplexes.

It’s not just a place to watch movies; it’s an immersive experience that pays homage to the magic of the silver screen and invites patrons to become part of a cinematic legacy. As we step into the future of cinema, Cinephile Cinemas carries the torch of tradition, ensuring that the wonder and excitement of film endure for generations to come.
