A single story residence offering the secure sense of home to the family by creating for them a world within itself. This tranquil home in Edathirinji, Kerala, India, is an amalgamation of modern architecture elements into a tropical architecture, giving prime importance to the ‘MAJLIS’ (sitting room) and interactive spaces. Spaces here were conceived to allow a natural flow and interaction within, wrapped in the most stimulating elements of nature- light, air, and water.
‘The first glance of this residence and its quite difficult to take your eyes off. A pattern of lines is in a unison effort around the house. The design approach is like a breadth of fresh air with sound and warm materials.’- Nishal Sevak(Co-Editor)

The client wished for us to create a humble abode space which are age-friendly considering his parents and the visitors who ensure their wellbeing. The design also aimed to achieve seamless integration with outdoor to enhance the user experience.
The design response was required to open the spaces, internally and externally while creating opportunities for quiet and privacy spaces that provided for differing moods and supported varying activities while feeling a connection to the whole.
The Interactive zone which plays the important role in design separates the other two zones for a clear sense of privacy. Also the interacting spaces are zoned within itself, which have a play of levels. The first phase of zone is provided for primary visitors, at the second phase intimate members are invited and at the last phase of the design family members are gathered.
