An 1800 Sqft Contemporary Office Space For An Emerging Edtech Firm | The Comma Collective
The client’s directive emphasized the importance of an open layout, versatile spaces, and a prominent integration of the brand’s color – purple. This presented us with a unique opportunity to push the boundaries of traditional spatial division techniques.
We created two intersecting volumes, creatively (Un)splitting the office into distinct front and back sections. Each area was designed to offer unique experiences through deliberate variations in materials, ambiance, and color palette.
In the front section, the palette and design displayed a sense of refinement and formality. A sloping ceiling, warm wooden flooring, and subdued grey walls converge to establish an aura of sophistication. This space hosts three meeting rooms that can be combined to use as one larger conference room, using sliding partitions.
This flexible arrangement ensures optimal utilization of the area while maintaining the desired ambiance for various activities, whether it’s formal meetings or collaborative discussions. These rooms are conducive for focused work and client interactions, fostering a professional & inviting environment.
Conversely, the rear section is bolder and more dynamic in comparison to the front-end of the office. The exposed ceiling adds an industrial flair, while white furnishings serve as a canvas for the bold infusion of the company’s signature purple hue.
This vibrancy not only resonates with the brand but also injects a sense of energy and identity into the workspace.
These contrasting elements create a sense of harmony and balance, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal and functionality of the office. By introducing unconventional design strategies, we were able to optimize the available space and fulfill the client’s brief while adhering to stringent time and budgetary constraints.
Moreover, our approach to spatial division enhances fluidity and collaboration, encouraging organic interactions among team members.
The versatile layout accommodates various work modes, from focused individual tasks to collaborative brainstorming sessions, thus promoting productivity and creativity.
(Un)Split exemplifies our commitment to pushing the boundaries of design, navigating formidable challenges. Through strategic interventions and meticulous attention to detail, we transformed a simple rectangular office gala into a dynamic workspace that reflects the ethos and aspirations of our client.
