  • A Humble Abode That Hits A Sugary Note With Every Culturally-Steeped, Modern And Contemporary Elements | Nirman Solutions

Constructed on a plot size of 2970 Sq.ft, “Kalptaru” began at a rather sweet note where the homeowners were a simple, close-knit family who wanted a humble abode that hits a sugary note with every culturally-steeped, modern and contemporary elements.

Editor’s note : “From the exterior, Kalptaru may have a modern approach, but its traditionality lies in its details. Its contemporary furnishings give way to beautiful arches and paisley-patterned walls. Design elements like the glass-fluted panels and the open staircase showcase a harmonious fusion of the two styles. Bold colours and textures play an intimate role in enhancing the aesthetics of the private spaces while making the abode a true paradise for its occupants. “~ Venessa Thomas (Co-Editor)

Hence conceptually we decided to go ahead with materials like exposed clay bricks, a lot of natural wood and textures reminiscent of natural stones.

The home consists of three bedrooms plus one flexible guest/ family room, with a beautiful balcony.

The living and dining are connected as one space; a custom fluted glass partition forms a screen between the two areas.

The skylight above the staircase allows natural light to the space.

The best part about the common spaces is the outdoor, partiallv open verandah that forms the focal point of the home.

The bedrooms are separated from the family lounge by the corridor that creates an isolated private zone.

The son’s bedroom has a special ambience created using orange as a highlight colour and a neon light sign has been added to give the bedroom a more chic look.

A beautiful 3d panel has been placed behind the bed of the master bedroom which becomes the focal point of the room.

The guest bedroom has been kept organic with it’s white walls and white wardrobe.

The grandparents bedroom expresses raw minimalism with the rattan cane added to the bed and tv unit.

The house is a modern pastiche of textures, colours, patterns and forms all coalescing to create a rich aesthetic and leave a royal Impression.
