The project is a visible form of the client’s brief of a contemporary residence that speaks of grandeur and elegance while having multiple breathing spaces and surrounded by greens. The site put forth to us was uneven in terrain with most of the rear end filled with rock formation more than 10 feet in height. The brief specifies on having the residential spaces to be planned in a single floor for privacy.

The exterior is sleek with windows that blend into the openings of the outdoor spaces. The interiors are inspired from themes of modern bohemian chic and a contemporary take on French vintage styles with large leaf potted plants, pastel soft furniture. The colour palette includes carefully selected muted shades of red, blues, pink, ochre with splashes of green – carefully positioned landscape within each space.
We worked with a site that was boxed-in on all sides but north, so we decided to use it to the structure’s advantage thereby putting forth a dynamic and dramatic elevation. The residence strategically utilizes its potential of being perched on a hill top, overlooking a beautiful valley. The unevenness of the land was a key inspiration for conceptualizing the spaces designed in a way to use the natural topography to the form’s advantage.
The residence is spread across four floors, each distinctive in its function and spatial design. The Second Floor is cantilevered by thirteen feet over the first floor to create an illusion of a floating floor, achieved by huge slanting columns. The cantilever forms a triple height grand entry to the residence.
The exterior colour palette sticks to earthy colours of greys, off whites and browns with a splash for greens peeking through every level creating a balanced visual treat.

The second floor in concrete finish rests on the off-white coloumns enhancing the visual feel of the cantiliver stretching as a box beyond the C shaped supporting structure, to create the drama.
Ceilings strategically turned into art, becoming a great conversation starter. Tiny crystal rocks in moss green and yellow are suspended from curves in the ceiling, transforming the space when the room is awash with natural light at different times of the day. Each floor has interesting infusions of light by including geometric slits in walls providing glimpses of the outdoor landscape and view beyond. The main entrance to the house is welcomed by a strategically placed skylight.
The Third Floor level outdoor double height space opens out to stunning vistas of the city, provides a cliff-like feel to the user. The smooth finish of the Tandur flooring coupled with glass and white walls creates a warm and inviting atmosphere for the user to relax.
