  • A Captivating Family Home, Seamlessly Blending Tradition and Modernity | Studio Deshi

Designed for a family of five, this tenement effortlessly captures the essence of three generations, embodying an Indian Modern style that is visually striking and emotionally evocative. ‘Infinite Threads’ is a captivating family home, seamlessly blending tradition and modernity in a celebration of Indian culture for the multiple generations. Through a harmonious blend of colors, craftsmanship, and personalization, it weaves a tapestry of beauty and heritage.

Editor’s note: With artful nuances, Studio Deshi has crafted this residence with a heart full of admiration. The informal introduction of patterns and colors sets a pleasant tone. The staircase concealing door is a surprise that continues on the first floor where the patterned floor is intriguing. There is an originality to each space that the designers have achieved with such emotions. ~ Nishal Sevak

Inspired by vibrant hues found in Indian culture, the colour palette infuses the neutral space with bursts of celebration. Deep terracotta reds, regal marigold yellows, and calming indigo blues pay homage to India’s rich heritage, weaving a thread that connects past, present, and future.

Upon entering, the wooden ceiling inspired by works of S.H. Raza ties the living and dining space together. The grooves and lines in the wooden ceiling mimic the geometric shapes found in Raza’s artwork, creating a visual continuity that adds a sense of rhythm.

The sofas are made with traditional finger joint in reclaimed wood. The center table made with the wood turning craft of Sankheda with local Abu black stone is a beautiful example of how age old craftsmanship and modern aesthetics blend together.

This same language is exaggerated in the dining table where the Ambaji marble inlay depicting the moon in the night sky adds to the overall narrative of the space.

A sliding door at the staircase is a fusion of art and functionality at best. Adorned with the delicate paper cut art of Lucknow called Sanjhi, carefully crafted and encased between two glass panels; it transforms the staircase into a gallery-like passage.

Illuminated by natural light, the intricate patterns create captivating interplays of light and shadow, mesmerizing all who pass through.

Each room is a reflection of its occupants, carefully curated to embody their unique personalities and desires. The master bedroom offers a serene oasis with soft pastels, inviting relaxation.

From the timeless elegance of the grandparents’ room to the common spaces that foster togetherness. Every room is an intricate symphony of colors and forms woven into a harmonious whole.

The common activity room bursts with vibrancy, featuring bold Athangudi tile patterns, lively colors, and interactive elements that inspire creativity and imagination.

‘Infinite Threads’ embraces the essence of family, creating spaces that encourage connection, communication, and shared experiences. It is a sanctuary that honors tradition, embraces modernity, and creates a timeless space for generations to come.
