Like peas in a pod, Twin luxury house is a residential project assembled for a brother-sister duo and their families in the city of Indore. Built on two plot sizes of 1500 sq ft each, the house is designed on the principles of vaastu and contextual considerations in regards to Indore’s tropical climate.

Warmth & Luxury curate this Contemporary Living Space in Indore | Emergence Architects

Visit: Emergence Architects

A reflection of their bond, this luxury structure has two separate units with a common main entrance and parking space. The external facade of both the houses along with the design language and spatial planning are two of a kind, adhering to their personal requirements distinctively. Multiple-use of materials in subtle tones of white, grey and brown, the facade is flanked by balconies and terraces at different levels to achieve a balance of voids between a solid volume. Contrasting the shades of grey is the innovative application of wood and chevron patterns that uplift the aesthetics of the house.

Stepping onto the luxury first floor is the family living room with its amalgamation of vibrant colors and Indian roots. Customized wooden furniture, Pichwai painting, vibrant cushions and carpet and antique decor pieces interweave and impart a fresh perspective and positive energy to the floor. Life is better in the sunshine and open air! The family living unfurls into an outdoor deck with cane furniture and planters to enjoy a cup of steaming coffee with conversations, vigour and family time.

The ground floor houses the formal living room, dining space, kitchen and guest bedroom. Decked in beige with a pop of mauve, the spaces are free of any partitions and are visually divided by the furniture layout. A quaint study and discussion nook extend the living room with a see-through metal partition, two loungers and a console table.

Escorting the design language of exteriors inside the house is the residence entrance. A customised wooden door with grooving is paired with a brass handle and the clients’ initials ‘M’ engraved on it for a personal touch and modern appeal.

Each house is designed to accommodate formal living spaces, a family lounge and three bedrooms in a two-storey structure. Carrying an opulent and well-curated sense of space, the houses reflect the persona of the homeowners and offer a cosy living experience surrounded by landscaping.

A monotonous colour palette of beige and brown overtakes the kitchen with a clean look. With modular cabinets, glossy finishes and natural light, the area renders minimalism. The guest bedroom flaunts a chic appeal with the freshness of sky blue in the overall beige setting. Furnishing symmetry, a cushioned vertical panelling for bed back runs across the entire length of the room. The textured wall with floral frames, brass artefacts and potted plants exude a calm ambience in the room. The journey to the first floor is narrated by a staircase adjacent to the dining area, bound by a line patterned wall and focus lights to compliment the theme of the house.

The master and sons’ bedrooms are oriented on the first floor. Dressed in tones of cream and magenta is the main bedroom. This elegant space features a coalescence of textures and materiality that emerge as one. A veneer backdrop with splashes of colour and metal inlays accentuates the room. A plump chair, brass pieces, and wall mouldings with the use of mirror strips render a classic vibe to the room. On the other hand, the son’s bedroom is made to give wings to his imagination. In tones of white, grey and blue, this room is highlighted by wooden accents. The customised wallpaper imparts a playful charm and comfort to the space. A cosy seating designed next to the window makes for a perfect setup for the boys’ musings and enhances the vibe of the room.

Twin House is not just about the bond of the siblings, it respects the requirements of each and every member of the household. With materials like marble and wood, the interiors not only display sophistication with their neutral colours, but the dash of colours in each space furnishes excitement, vigour and timelessness.
