Vijaywada Novotel Interiors Based On Seasons | Design Studio

A monster of a project for any designer, it took 3 years to bring this project to life. Based on the theme of the 4 seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter, we deciphered the concept in an abstract way using the related colours and elements to give meaning to the design.

We started with the ground floor that’s the lobby that contain the banquet spaces and took the “spring” theme throughout with boisterous carpets, dramatic wave chandeliers in the banquets and vibrant paintings in the pre functions areas. Throughout the entire space, we also made sure the elegance factor was not compromised hence balancing all the bright colours with muted backgrounds of beige in the marble, the wall panel fabrics and the copper mirror and abstract yoga sculptures in the niches.

The lobby, gourmet bar and the all-day dining are made to look as one completely connected space that flowed into each other with a unique usage of different kinds of lighting on every area without making it look jarring. The kitchens are interactive and we’re made to look very welcoming with a lot of niches and accessories that give it a warm vibe in keeping with the “summer theme”.

The specialty restaurant WUGAN is a pan Asian restaurant with a twist. We stayed away from the reds and walnuts of a regular Chinese restaurant and delved into turquoise and golds for this area. The gold organza sheets offset against silver wallpapers, bright blue customized tile backdrops and black and white art make for a unique setting to go south Asian.

The room floors and the corridors are all visible through the magnificent atrium. Hence the carpets for the corridors became that much more important. Taking inspiration from the falling leaves concept of autumn and abstracting it to meet our hexagon theme brought colour and vibrancy to the entire atrium in a way none of us expected.

The grey walls bring the subtlety to the design. The rooms are an extension of the new Novotel N room concept and take it a notch further in terms of usability and practicality. The open bathrooms concept further add space and the herringbone engineered oak floor in the rooms brings a sense of luxury to the rooms.

Elements / accessories / abstract photographs of Vijaywada reflect all over the hotel in multiple mediums to bring the local feel in a very modern and trendy way.

The terrace is everyone’s favourite part of the hotel with the infinity pool, the fun gym, a walking track, spa and a spanking roof top bar. The colours of winter in grey, white and blue reflect all over the space and give this city hotel much needed breathing space and a sense of landscape and fresh air.
