Tucked within the leafy lanes of Sagar Society, Hyderabad, this 7,450 sq. ft. villa rises as a contemporary residence deeply anchored in tradition and nature. Three towering trees frame the structure at its entry, their organic silhouettes tempering the scale of the built form and setting the stage for a home that balances architectural gravitas with human warmth.

The approach itself feels choreographed a pedestrian pocket gate offers intimacy, while a dramatic sliding gate in black Corian, etched with tropical motifs, marks the threshold with a sense of anticipation.
The design unfolds vertically, rising from a stilted base that accommodates parking, staff quarters, and service areas. A sweeping single-flight floating Marble staircase ascends from this level with sculptural grace, setting the stage for a sequence of spaces where art, architecture, and materiality converge.
At the first level, one is received into a double-height patio conceived almost like a curated gallery. A striking stone mural depicting a girl collecting lotuses, executed in green and beige marble alongside granite, becomes the focal artwork.
The pyramid-block wooden main door with bold black handles asserts a tactile presence, while the herringbone patterned marble flooring lends rhythm to the space. Each object from an oversized ostrich wooden artefact to a solitary outdoor chair is placed with the deliberation of a tableau.
The living areas articulate the villa’s philosophy of fusion, a dialogue between contemporary lines and cultural references. A black-and-white marble inlay of a cow on floor anchors the drawing room, resonating with a sculptural ceiling light above.
A hanging black marble partition echoes this motif as it conceals vertical circulation, transforming functional necessity into layered storytelling.
Art and craft along with nature punctuate the interiors: a vibrant canvas of an elephant and musicians injects colour and narrative, while expansive windows bring in the soft northeast light, connecting dining and kitchen areas to tree-lined vistas beyond.
Ascending to the second floor, the narrative shifts to more private realms. A family lounge in a monochrome palette sets a bold mood, counterbalanced by the sanctity of the puja room where carved wooden doors, lotus stone inlays in green stone, and a gilded ceiling create an atmosphere of spiritual radiance.
The master suite, clad in warm beige tones, wood, and Italian marble, exudes understated luxury, while the children’s bedrooms embrace playfulness and light through vibrant accents and thoughtful study nooks.
An adjoining sit-out with a granite platform waterbody and a Krishna mural in black slate forms a contemplative retreat, weaving spirituality and nature together.
The third floor is dedicated to leisure and celebration. A lobby detailed with wooden rafters, metallic laminates, and brass sculptural lights signals festivity, while mirrored panels amplify scale.
The home theatre integrates design and performance with acoustical cladding, Corian backlit patterns, and seating arranged for both comfort and drama.
Flanking this are a lively party lounge and a creatively styled children’s bedroom. They are accented by Thomas Heatherwick’s iconic Spun Chair a nod to the family’s design sensibilities.
Crowning the villa is its L-shaped landscaped terrace full of nature, envisioned as an oasis in the sky. Stone seating along the walls, a reflective waterbody, and green plantations shape an atmosphere of outdoor leisure. A pergola of timber and metal casts playful shadows across the floor. A spiral stair ascends further to the upper terrace. It discreetly houses solar panels and services a thoughtful balance of lifestyle and sustainability.
From its rooted beginnings among towering trees to its culminating terraces open to the sky, this 7,450 sq. ft. residence is a layered exploration of scale, materiality, and narrative. Every level unfolds like a chapter where art meets architecture. Here, tradition coexists with modernity, and spaces are as much about retreat as they are about celebration. More than a house, it stands as a crafted story of its residents’ aspirations, identities, and way of life.
