  • The Design Challenge Of This Home Became A Strength, Giving It A Unique Architectural Identity | Nebulous Design

    [Sassy_Social_Share]

The client presented an exciting design challenge — the site came with an irregular shape, marked by a mix of sharp angles and gentle curves. Making full use of this unique geometry without compromising interior space became the core design pursuit. As a result, the façade evolved with rhythmic offsets every ten feet, lending the home a distinct architectural identity. Internally, each angular niche and offset was thoughtfully transformed into functional and aesthetic spaces, creating a home that feels expansive and fluid despite its unconventional form.

    Design Challenge

    Introduction

Nestled in Hennur, Bengaluru, Ashraya Residence epitomizes contemporary living through a harmonious fusion of form and function spread across three levels. Crafted by Nebulous, this 5,800 sq.ft. villa, comprising five bedrooms, is a seamless composition of modern sophistication and warmth.

    First Level

The first level SOHO  — featuring a dedicated office space alongside a thoughtfully designed 1BHK unit. The second level unfolds into an expansive living area drenched in natural light, an inviting island kitchen, and a welcoming guest bedroom. Floor-to-ceiling windows and open spaces blend seamlessly, amplifying the feeling of freedom and openness while tackling the initial design challenge.

    Design Challenge

    Third Level

The third level is envisioned as a haven for leisure and comfort, housing three tranquil bedrooms and a dedicated music studio that transforms daily living into a soulful and creative experience. Skylight in all rooms bathes them in nature’s everchanging canvas, evolving from dawn to dusk.

    Materials

Materiality and laguna shades define the role in the design narrative and come together to create layers of texture and depth. The client’s clear preference for a high-gloss aesthetic guided the design language — resulting in surfaces that gleam and reflect light, enhancing visual dynamism without overpowering the space.

    Decor

Timeless beige marble, paired with the client’s favorite colors, enhances the warmth and elegance of the interiors. Varied lighting styles and bespoke décor infuse life into every corner, complemented by custom furniture, fine fabrics, and curated wall art.

A testament to the transformative power of design, Ashraya Residence transcends its structural complexity to emerge as a spatially rich, emotionally engaging home — where modern design meets enduring grace.
