Open Courtyards And A Biophilic Design Connect The Outdoors With The Indoors | R+R Architects
The location and surroundings played a significant role in determining the design scheme of the residence. The designers considered multiple factors, including functionality, aesthetics, and natural elements like lighting, climate, and landscape.
Cultural influences and local architectural styles were integrated to ensure the space harmonises with its environment. The aim was to create an area that is both visually appealing and practical, fostering a connection to its surroundings while enhancing the overall atmosphere.
Contemporary flat-sloped roofs with a wooden underlay are complemented by expansive windows adorned with vertical slats that provide both privacy and aesthetic interest. The exterior is finished with a clean-lined, beige-toned facade that seamlessly blends concrete, glass, and wood.
Surrounding the home is lush landscaping, featuring palm trees, manicured lawns, and small mounds of greenery that enhance its appeal. A spacious driveway, designed with dark, stone-like tiles and subtle linear patterns, leads up to this elegant dwelling.
The intricate metalwork serves as a stunning façade, providing privacy while filtering light, and reinterprets traditional jaali patterns, reinforcing a dialogue between architecture and the surrounding natural environment.
The full-height glass panels blur the line between indoor and outdoor spaces, inviting nature inside. Grounded in its landscape, the structure features contoured green mounds and floating upper balconies, creating a light and harmonious relationship with its surroundings.
The courtyard interior space features a central planter that brings the area to life. The space feels like a green oasis where one can relax and enjoy the fresh air.
The plants in the open courtyards create a cosy vibe, letting natural light filter in beautifully. This spot is perfect for casual hangouts or simply soaking up some sunshine, making it an inviting place that encourages one to linger a little longer.
Smart space planning in this residence emphasizes functionality and aesthetics through multi-functional furniture, strategic lighting, and vertical storage.
By using zoning techniques and open layouts, the design optimizes movement while maintaining airiness. The minimalist approach and integration of smart technology enhance usability, making the space adapt to the residents’ needs.
The Organic material palette combines natural textures with contemporary finishes, featuring locally sourced stone, warm wood accents, and sleek metals.
This combination enhances both aesthetics and sustainability. The landscape complements the residence, integrating lush greenery and serene water features that blur indoor-outdoor boundaries, creating a tranquil oasis that invites exploration and relaxation.
