The approach to the building in geometric architecture style was very critical as the building is viewed from both sides of the approach road, and the building reveals its form and character in a very dramatic way 6m fire tender road is provided all around the site. Seeing the north, the building is facing northwest and southeast, which is best in terms of this climate, and all the working areas are spread over these directions.

The sciography created by the different geometric architecture forms and projections is noteworthy. These are the salient innovations in architecture where the play of light makes a lasting impact on the viewer. Services essentially support the working areas. These laboratories with intricate machinery to deliver the final results. These corridors retain the paraphernalia requirements like equipment, cylinder and backup machinery, etc.
The team placed the major services in accessible areas to ensure easy maintenance. By doing this, we vacated the basement, which would have otherwise been jam-packed with machinery. This not only enhances the building block but also identifies the service corridors, which are an integral part of the design.
A triangular porch suddenly breaks the form, intercepting the cuboids. The elegantly designed conference room with a capacity of 50 persons also acts as a porch which projects out in a triangulation that breaks the square monotony of the plan.
Above it is the terrace which gives different dimension to a typical laboratory. This acts a breather and refreshing area for the scientist and other staff. These service corridors have separate entry and access from the back entrance for maintenance and machinery.
The building features a framed structure finished with terracotta tiles., Other flooring materials include Granite, vitrified tiles and ceramic tiles. Trimix flooring is in the basement.
The derivation of the form is through the methodology of cubist geometry as practised and followed by the architects. The graphical geometry in the plan defines the nodal points, which in turn shape the elevation and overall building form. An ambient corridor wraps around and embraces the building block. The corridor is also the carrier of services.
The corridor is also the place for tapping wet services. The concept takes care of the view from every room. The lobby is further housed by 2 lifts and an easy staircase. The design team ensured user convenience by providing the fire staircase with adequate width and comfortable risers. We strategically placed mandatory fire escapes on both sides and thoughtfully integrated well-defined rescue areas.
By this no duct pipes or service projects inside the room, thereby eliminating the requirement of concealment and covering by false ceiling. The main entrance remains free of obstruction from equipment movement, as illustrated in the figure.
The corridors house the backbone of the laboratories, the services, which are arranged, protected, placed, and assembled with precision. The laboratories have light from minimum two full sides. This unique feature makes the laboratory concept very research-oriented. This corridor doesn’t restrict the working areas; instead, carefully calculated sections allow light to filter through the glazing beneath each corridor, enhancing the spaces. The maintenance and management of services are independent and do not interfere with the clean and sterile environment inside.
The foyer is an inviting space where multiple facilities like reception, area of display of levels is exhibited, the provision of core, sitting lounge, waiting areas and different signage facilitating the visitors. The porch has the coffered ceiling with lights for night illumination.
