Inspired by the Nation’s Vision of Naya Bharat, and to address both present and future public needs, the idea emerged to establish a building that functions effectively at the grassroots level. Believing in this vision, an MLA Office for the 146th Vidhan Sabha Constituency in Gujarat was conceived and developed as a modern interpretation of vernacular buildings. The facility center spans 4,480 sq. ft. of built-up area on a 1,350 sq. ft. plot. The esteemed MLA envisioned a space where helpful one-on-one interactions with constituents could take place. This office serves as both an administrative hub and a bridge between the governance and its people.
This center is planned in the core of the Town of Vadodara city, which has residential, commercial and hospitals in its nearby vicinity.

Trust of his public and assurance of being guided, was the key feature in successfully coming up with the idea. The designers were excited to experience a new opportunity and cater to the requirements. As part of challenges the main factor was to understand the functioning of this gated building. How activities work, what security concerns need to be prefeed and how the functions should be segregated.
While studying the system, the designing team had many interactive sessions that led to the planning of this building. It is a G+4 storey building. The façade proudly showcases a touch of art using vernacular material.
A designated space on the façade actively displays large posters or banners that showcase the dignified officer’s initiatives, such as public programs or key announcements. The glass panels compliment to the rustic palette. Vertical linear form of the structure robustly stands in the vicinity signifying its function.
The first floor accommodates centralised waiting area with aisles of rows for easy accessibility and barrier free communication throughout the space. This floor space has the core staff team sitting to address the concerns of the public.
A set of various sections considering the public schemes, different cubicles have been planned. Pictorial graphics flowing around capture’s one curiosity, where spaces seem to pop from different angles. Canvas of colour and glass cubicles make it more evident in barrier free communication.
While travelling the staircase passage, it shares some glimpses of photographs showcasing the dignified officer’s involvement in various social activities and the recognitions he has received over time. His bond with the public plays key role in his meetings.
The second floor features the main officer’s cabin, a ministerial officer’s space, and an enclosed area for classified meetings.
Designed with a focus on security, functionality, and aesthetics, the chief’s cabin uses green stone flooring and a subtle color palette to define space hierarchy. An accent seat serves as a personal waiting area, and a sculpted void displays awards.
The adjacent officer’s cabin follows the same theme, with well-planned furniture for spaciousness and handcrafted tabletops.
A corporate meeting zone offers an interactive setup with screen space and collaborative storage. Artful interiors and vibrant touches give the office a revolutionary feel.
It has a portable Sabha Hall to cater public holdings. The orientation of furniture allows in the flexibility of space modulation as per requirements. Glass sliders act as barrier of semi visuals for noted privacy.
On the last floor it, houses a space which has 2 bedrooms for the dignified guests to rest and an open terrace garden. High chair seating on the periphery of this open space, lets one relax in the soothing ambience around.
An accent wall in rustic texture with indirect lighting adds to the comforting. Flooring in playful graphics from mosaics and wooden tiles, displays a free-flowing art for this terrace garden.
This Public Assistance building stands as an initiative to progressive leadership, supportive governance, and a commitment to build a stronger and connected community for the future.
