The space adopts a biophilic office design and climate-responsive approach, creating a workspace that reimagines urban interiors by deeply embedding them with nature. The style is earthy, minimal, and modern with a strong contextual sensitivity to its location. Also, a lush canopy surrounds the bare-shell site on the first floor, allowing for abundant daylight and natural ventilation.
Editor’s Note: “Grounded in its lush environment, this office is more than windows and walls, it’s a gentle conversation between craft and climate, light and leaf. With each arch, it resets the way of work, earthy, breathable, and peacefully harmonized with the principles of nature.” ~ Anusha Sridhar
This Biophilic Office Design Is Sculpted in Daylight | AD Studio9
The design is driven by the site’s unique setting and incorporates traditional cooling methods and local materials, eliminating the need for artificial air conditioning, even during peak summer.
Upon entry, the space exudes warmth and harmony through a welcoming reception area. A custom foyer table, crafted from locally sourced materials, pairs beautifully with an organically shaped sofa that reflects the natural surroundings. This sets the tone for a space rooted in biophilic charm and thoughtful design.
The reception functions as both a waiting area and a space that introduces visitors to the ethos of the design. It’s designed with earthy textures, exposed brick, and natural materials, establishing an immediate connection to the outdoors and creating a calm, inspired ambiance.
The open-plan workspaces support seamless collaboration, boasting reclaimed wood accents, soft flooring, and muted walls to enhance comfort and focus.
The conference room, flooded with sunlight and surrounded by greenery, features a striking Paludarium—a nature-art fusion that anchors the space with tranquility.
The pantry space, raised and overlooking green foliage, continues the theme with green marble and natural oak, merging utility with biophilic design. Concealed sockets, curved ceilings, and top-hung windows ensure functional elegance and natural comfort throughout.
The creative architect’s cabin celebrates individuality and harmony with nature. Featuring wood, marble, and curved lines, it invites light and air, creating a well-being-oriented sanctuary. Its adjacent balcony, with Kota flooring and lush vegetation, blurs indoor-outdoor boundaries.
The partner’s cabin reflects a cozier aesthetic with a monochromatic theme and bold red accents. It is a collection of custom elements like a bespoke boss table, beige walls, and organic furniture, exuding a modern, yet warm and personal feel.
A standout feature is the Verdurium, a hybrid of traditional Paludarium and modern horticulture, located within the meeting space. It integrates an irrigation and misting system that cools the space naturally, promotes biodiversity, and enhances air quality.
The adjacent balcony to the architect’s cabin serves as a serene escape with natural flooring and greenery, embodying the seamless fusion of architecture and landscape.
