This Greenery House Design Becomes A Perfect Solution for Wellness and Space | Studio DWS

This project was planned in between lockdown when the client realized the importance of open space close to nature, aligning with a greenery house design that was required by the client’s aging parents and his young kids.

Editor’s Note: Rooted in stillness and shaped by togetherness, this home flows gently between the indoors and nature outside. It offers quiet corners, open skies, and thoughtful spaces for everyday moments and shared memories, an organic, grounded retreat where life unfolds softly and freely.

This Greenery House Design Becomes A Perfect Solution for Wellness and Space | Studio DWS

We were commissioned to design contemporary residence built around a water body that had all the space and amenities to host friends and family. The client wanted the interiors of the building to relate to the exterior and therefore it required the architect and the interior designer to work in conjunction right from the inception.

The Deck

Paved in a mix of pine wood and ceramic, it engulfs the pool and connects to the large lawn behind it. It is equipped for hosting poolside parties. On one side of it are the doors and windows of the bedrooms, and the other side of it has a long, narrow pergola with the change rooms, open showers, a gazebo and an outdoor kitchen under it.

The special drainage under the deck allowed us to maintain the same finished floor level throughout the interior and the exterior spaces. The living floor, the deck floor and water in the pool are at the same level. A lone frangipani set in a minimal enclosure symbolizes hope emerging in post pandemic times.

The Pool

The most special part of this pool is the white ceramic tile. As a result, it allows one to experience the true color of the water. This large multi-functional pool includes a paddling pool, a jacuzzi, and a lap pool. Additionally, a bar sits at the infinity edge, offering a stunning view.

It has a special shading structure spanning the entire length of the pool with trickling water curtain function to avoid suntan from the scorching sun in the summers. Users can take refuge under it and enjoy the artificial rain falling on them.

Terrace

It is a grand space accessed from the deck by a wide, external, open to sky staircase. It is a more private, spill-over space for a party and overlooks the deck, pool and the lawn in the backdrop. The mild steel girder lining the edge of the terrace has an integrated metal and glass railing that allows the air breeze to permeate and provide relief.

Entrance Porch

The design leads to the raised entrance of the house via an interesting combination of steps sheltered under a large modern porch. The porch forms the drop-off zone around a landscaped roundabout, with its roof soffit lined in solid pine wood and supported by slender mild steel girders.

Living, Bar and Dining

Living area walls are covered with plush textured wallpaper with matt black profile inset. To break monotony and add warmth, have added wooden shelving and fluted wooden panels to add texture to our pallet.

Sofas upholstery is stainproof keeping in mind of the clients requirement. To break all the neutral grey-beige-ivory tones, have added blue in different parts of the area like the bar front, sofa cushions, blue leather sofa opposite to bar and few accessories.

Master Bedroom

The house has five bedrooms along the south side. Out of these, the three bedrooms on the ground floor, have doors opening out onto the pool deck. Another two bedroom are on first floor planned for guest especially. With a private kitchen pantry and Lounge area for guest to relax.

The master bathroom boasts a boldly positioned bathtub under a chandelier. Glass walls bound this space, allowing one to enjoy the outdoor view while embracing a calming buoyancy. The design plans separate wet and dry areas by incorporating shower and WC cubicles. Walk-in wardrobes are planned inside the washrooms. All the bathrooms offer a view of the pool.

Main Staircase

An impressive staircase forming the main feature of the East façade. They finished it in Italian grey marble and walnut veneer, featuring a glass railing and a solid wood walnut handrail.

We conceal each step nosing with light. Additionally, we hang a series of Bocci pendant lights from the wooden ceiling in the double-height cutout for the staircase, placing them at different levels. With glass on both the ends forms end less refection that adds glamour at night which is visible from outside as well.

Mid-Night Glory

We started this project at the beginning of 2020, but stalled it for a few months due to the onslaught of the epidemic.

It was in the early stages when we decided to extend help. We awarded the millwork and mild steel fabrication work to a neighboring carpenter and blacksmith. Thus, ensuring they stayed afloat during the troubled times.

Working and bonding with them was truly pleasurable. Moreover, raising their quality of craftsmanship to meet our standards turned out to be a very fulfilling experience.

Living- Bar- Dining

The bar sits in the centre flanked by the living and dining on either side. This large 20 ft deep x 60 ft wide space features its longer side opening out onto a spacious congregation deck. Across this deck, the pool creates a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor areas.

It is a plush setting with fabric, leather, and boucle upholstered furniture pieces. Additionally, the backdrop features shelves accentuated with LED profile lighting, enhancing the overall ambience.
