Industrial Interior Design Enhances the Atmosphere of This Craft Brewery | Ar. Shrey Mahashabde
Drifters is designed to be a sensory-driven craft beer experience that captures the essence of brewing culture through a bold industrial narrative. The 5th-floor indoor lounge offers a moody, intimate setting, while the 6th-floor terrace bar fosters an open, social ambiance.
The material palette plays a crucial role—exposed brick, natural stone, metal, and vegan wood create an unfiltered yet inviting atmosphere. The absence of tiles enhances the space’s organic, tactile quality, aligning with the sustainability ethos.
Every design element reinforces Drifters’ identity as a brewery that values craftsmanship—not just in its beer, but in its architectural expression.
The project presented unique challenges, requiring thoughtful solutions. Creating a smooth circulation between the bars, seating zones, and open brewery areas without disrupting spatial harmony. Using textured surfaces and weathered wood to mitigate sound reflections and maintain a balanced indoor ambiance. Designing bespoke elements that align with the brewery’s identity while ensuring durability and comfort. Implementing energy-efficient lighting with dimmers, sourcing locally reclaimed materials, and incorporating vegan, cruelty-free wood finishes.
Drifters embraces a raw yet refined construction approach, blending handcrafted details with industrial finishes. Natural stone throughout, enhancing durability and aesthetic warmth. A mix of exposed brick, concrete, and metal accents for an authentic industrial feel. Upcycled, vegan-certified wood & locally sourced veneer, reinforcing ethical sourcing and sustainability. Dimmable, low-energy fixtures, ensuring adaptability between daylight exposure and intimate evening moods. Bespoke metal and reclaimed wood elements, offering a cohesive balance between raw and refined.
The 3750 sqft space is designed for an immersive yet efficient brewery experience. A warm, acoustically controlled lounge with varied seating typologies, from high tables to communal setups in the indoor bar.
An open-air experience, designed for natural ventilation, panoramic views, and a lively social environment on the terrace bar.
Central Bar Positioning: Ensuring unobstructed movement while maximizing engagement between patrons and bartenders.
Transparency & Connectivity: Glass partitions & open layouts to maintain visual fluidity while subtly dividing zones.
Drifters stands as a thoughtfully curated brewery & taproom, where architectural storytelling meets functional elegance. By integrating sustainability, authenticity, and industrial aesthetics, the space achieves a cohesive, immersive experience that reflects the essence of craft brewing.
