At the heart of Aangan lies a spacious central courtyard, an open-concept design that fluidly connects all common areas. Thus, fostering interaction and a seamless indoor-outdoor experience.
A notable feature of the project is the preservation of an existing mango tree, which has been integrated into the design as a central element, reinforcing the home’s commitment to sustainability and respecting the natural landscape.

The playfulness of spaces brought forth pause moments, inviting one to gaze into the intimate gardens. It also encouraged grabbing a book for a reading binge and settling into the ‘nadumuttam,’ surrounded by the greens.
The sanctuary of the house, The Dining space, takes the interior up a notch. The journey from the “Nadumuttam” leads to the Dining, where it branches into other interior chambers. The dining table gets the spotlight in this double-height space, evoking the sense of freedom.
The Mahogany and Moroccan flooring working together, enhances the intimacy of this space. The panoramic view from the dining features the large round windows and Staircase.
‘Aangan’ was the culmination of a dream for the family, bonded by the threads of precious moments. The colors and textures of natural materials — exposed brick and rubble, Kotta stone, mahogany, and steel — remained functional while seamlessly merging with the greens. The central “nadumuttam”connected visually to the inside.
The round window, encouraging the airflow into the space, captivates the viewer’s attention with the unique scale and the harmony in colors. All trailing to the view of staircase, ascending with Mahogany treads and industrial railing. Collaborating in bringing forth the synergy between tradition and innovation.
The hallway leads to a patio near the dining area, offering a cozy nook for enjoying quiet reading moments. Indoor plants thrive under the sunlight streaming through the skylight.
The contours of the rubble wall serve as a token of sustainability, eventually leading to the window that frames the view of nature. The harmony of the earthy materials transforms into something magical.
A traditional bedroom exudes a blend of cultural elements and natural charm, with rattan mesh accents adding a sense of lightness and texture.
