This Art Deco Contemporary Interior Design Explores Shapes and Rhythmic Flow | Ethos Architects

A modest, elegant boutique that sells clothing and has maximum storage while yet being distinct. However, a complex personality with whimsical interior touches that fit the setting of interest. The project is an idea of exploring colors, textures, and shapes in the interior space with an art deco contemporary interior design approach. It is simple yet with all the ‘comic cloud ideas.’

Coherence and sequence are quintessential verities conveying a sense of seamless yet rhythmic movements from an idea to the next, enhancing design attributes with harmony. ‘Rhythmic drift’ here is suggested through repeating organic flow in shapes and materials through irregular repetition of elements.

Editor’s Note: “Dipped in bold yet contrasting color theories of red and blue, shaped in layering textures, ‘Rhythmic Drift’ is an immersive retail boutique that is more than a store. With an Art Deco theme featuring geometrical shapes, playful puzzle details, and comic concepts, this contemporary experience is a living canvas of art. A fusion of imagination, organic flow, and creativity, where every surface tells a story” ~ Anusha Sridhar

Unexpected Red Theory

The complementary colors are all about contrast. We used the colour red in moderation with opposite shades of colour in the wheel: green and blue. Achieved a colour palette that successfully puts a design together, and everything else seems to then sit back and relax. Thus, we strategically kept the canvas grey.

Local craftsmen incorporate unique wood details and shape steel as the main material, finishing it with various treatments to complete the story.

Bespoke Material & Colour Palette

A project’s material palette is a vital first step. Additionally, it has such value in projecting rhythmic drift. We started with a fairly subdued canvas—a dyed grey veneer and a basic steel grey laminate—in order to properly implement a design. But then, all of the comic book concepts start to appear, bringing colour, pattern, and texture to the room that completes it and gives it more creative depth. It’s a cry of joy!

Style: Art Deco, Contemporary

The space’s entry foyer is a manifestation of it; it is a location that will stimulate one’s interest. Commercial interiors are being redefined by a spirit of design inquiry. It’s the kind of place that will make one wonder how they designed it.

The rhythmic movement captured visitors’ minds, creating a smooth blend of form and function. The space’s reception is both a complete stop and an exclamation. It is a focal point which has too much to offer. This idea demonstrates how layering materials, finishes, and tiny details creates flawless results.

Both counters and display units offer ample storage and function more efficiently. The layout planning merely relied on function. Designing storage that integrates modular planning was the client’s brief. Maximizing the end user’s convenience. Counters, on the other hand, were also expertly executed by including imaginative elements from the front and maintaining storage from the rear.

After being psyched, the customer lounge provides a pleasant, comfortable, and concentrated vibe for one to unwind in while indulging only in the clothing that the shop has to offer. This area is supposed to be very basic and minimalistic, with finishes in shades of grey. This area is very useful and adaptive in its own right since it defines boundaries. Moreover, it ensures there are no disruptions, and offers a straightforward shopping experience. The upper levels have also been designed with the same concept.

Art Deco Style Into A Modern Interpretation.

Celebrating the concept of fragmentation through shapes that create a puzzle-like appearance. We approached a decorative style that uses geometric shapes, bright colours, and new materials to create a blend from its history to this timeless interior space.

We have kept things minimal yet whimsical at times. As we have translated our imagination into creative freedom, curiosity, and desire to explore art extensively into a space. As it is narrating a story!
