Kam Ce Kam Furniture Blends Indian Craft With Contemporary Interiors

Kam Ce Kam, founded in 2019 by designer Jehanara Knowles, is a design-forward brand that celebrates craftsmanship with a contemporary touch. The name “Kam Ce Kam” translates to “at the very least” in Hindi. Moreover, it reflects the brand’s philosophy of encouraging people to engage with crafts rooted in historical culture. Natural materials, such as solid wood, cane, and stone, define their collection, each piece telling a story of heritage and sustainability. With a keen focus on quality, Kam Ce Kam bridges the gap between artisanal skill and modern living.

1. Divaar Screen

‘Divaar’ meaning ‘Wall’ in Hindi, is a room divider or dressing room piece which combines soft curves with mirrored, timber and cane sections to provide a gentle separation between spaces. Inspired by a combination of a traditional screen and modern day dressing room piece, the design incorporates multiple functionalities whilst adding a statement to any space. Its structured wooden frame and handwoven cane panels create a soft partition while maintaining an airy aesthetic.

2. Wicker Story Bench

Designed in collaboration with Kam Ce Kam and The Wicker Story, creating a unique collection of sculptural, functional art pieces. The bench carries the same thoughtful approach, blending simplicity with detail. Crafted from solid timber and woven cane, this bench is a nod to time-honored Indian weaving traditions. It’s versatile enough to complement an entryway, a cozy reading nook, or even the foot of a bed. The combination of sturdy structure and delicate texture makes it a perfect balance of function and artistry.

Kam Ce Kam redefines handcrafted furniture by blending sustainability with timeless design. Every piece reflects a deep appreciation for material, craftsmanship, and functionality. With designs like the Divaar Screen and Wicker Story Bench, the brand brings warmth and artistry into modern interiors. Their collection is more than furniture—it’s a celebration of tradition, transformed for contemporary living.
