Exterior Facade

The bold geometric composition of exposed red brick and raw concrete defines the facade, reflecting a timeless, earthy palette. The horizontal lines of the cantilevered slabs and balconies enhance the visual appeal. Meanwhile, the strategic integration of vertical elements adds depth and balance. Moreover, the facade’s open, clean design ensures natural light and ventilation permeate the structure. Thus, creating a sustainable and energy-efficient home.

The lush plantations at the base provides a vibrant contrast to the raw materials, softening the structure’s modern lines and bringing nature into close proximity with the living spaces. Tropical plants and carefully selected greenery wrap the house, adding a sense of serenity and privacy. A shaded pathway lined with palm trees and natural stone flooring emphasizes the connection between indoor and outdoor environments.

Landscape

Since the site doesn’t offer extensive landscaping opportunities, we focused on creating green connections within the home itself. The courtyards and OTS planters introduce lush greenery that visually divides the spaces while enhancing the atmosphere with natural light and fresh air. Dense trees and shrubs strategically placed in the compound wall planters ensure that the home feels connected to nature even in the absence of large outdoor spaces. Moreover, the design’s seamless integration of outdoor elements helps create a refreshing environment that brings the outdoors indoors.

Concept

The bungalow’s design is built around the idea of openness, connectivity, and personalization. It features a bold, rectangular mass that was softened and enlivened by the introduction of strategic punctures in the form of courtyards, open-to-sky planters (OTS), and large fenestrations. However, these elements allow light to permeate deep into the interior while also visually separating the different spaces, enhancing the spatial experience. One of the most significant design principles was ensuring that every room had its own vibe, reflecting the personalities of the family members, yet maintaining a sense of cohesion throughout the entire house.

Interior

The interior design of the bungalow follows an earthy, warm palette that creates a sense of grounding and serenity. Bricks, wood, leather, and fabric in soft, muted tones form the primary material selection, chosen to evoke comfort and simplicity. As a result, natural textures blend seamlessly with modern design elements.

Each room tells its own story, yet all spaces maintain a connecting design language that links them into one harmonious whole. From formal living spaces to intimate family zones, every corner of this home is carefully curated to feel both unique and part of a cohesive whole.

Contemporary Bungalow House

Living Area

The heart of the bungalow is its expansive formal living area, where design meets functionality in an ambiance of understated opulence. Thus, adding visual intrigue to the space, the wooden ceiling panel contrasts beautifully with the polished stone flooring and soft area rugs.

This interplay of textures lends a rich, layered feel to the living area, while warm, diffused lighting creates an inviting atmosphere in the evenings.

Dining

The Dining space seamlessly integrates with the family living area and the kitchen, reflecting the bungalow’s open-plan design ethos. Additionally, it is seamlessly connected to an open-to-sky coffee court, blurring the lines between interior and exterior.

The design fosters a sense of openness and fluidity. Thus, it is perfect for hosting intimate family meals or larger gatherings..

Above, delicate pendant lights add a contemporary touch, while a backdrop of earthy wooden cabinetry in the kitchen enhances the space’s warmth.

Kitchen

The kitchen has a minimalist design approach, featuring clean lines, stone countertops, and black and wood finishes for a cohesive aesthetic.

Master Bedroom

The Master Bedroom is a statement of luxury, blending earthy tones with bold textures. Moreover, the highlight is a dramatic stone-textured accent wall that adds depth and raw elegance to the space.

A plush, upholstered low-slung bed, paired with a long ottoman in a rich gray fabric, dominates the room. Behind the bed, subtle wooden paneling enhances the warmth and complements the stone finish.

Floor-to-ceiling windows provide breathtaking views of the outdoors, merging the interior with nature. The use of layered lighting, including sleek bedside lamps, completes the sophisticated look.

Furthermore, the walk-in closet is a luxurious enclave of organized storage and style. Black high-gloss cabinets with glass-paneled doors showcase clothing and accessories, while integrated lighting highlights every detail.

At the center, a bold red island with drawers acts as both a functional storage unit and a design statement. The wooden flooring adds warmth, ensuring the space feels as inviting as it is sophisticated.

Kids Bedroom

Designed for youthful energy, this bedroom is a playful yet stylish space. The exposed brick accent wall creates an industrial backdrop, while vibrant red accents, including a whimsical spinning chair and a life-sized Spiderman installation, make the room a haven for imagination. However, the bold design balances the vibrancy of childhood with modern aesthetics, making it a delightful and functional space.

The Parents Bedroom is designed with a sophisticated, timeless wooden vibe, incorporating warm textures and rich finishes to create a space of rest and tranquility.

The Guest Bedroom is designed with minimalism in mind. Thus, featuring concrete-like panels and a streamlined approach to furniture and decor. This room is all about simplicity and modernity.

The J.P. House is more than just a place to live—it’s a reflection of a family’s lifestyle, preferences, and values. The design balances practicality with beauty, creating distinct, personalized spaces that flow together cohesively. Moreover, this bungalow is not just a residence—it’s a lifestyle, offering its occupants a sanctuary of elegance, creativity, and peace.
