This Punjab Home Design is an Oasis of Solitude |  La Luna Design House

The Punjab home design is an oasis of solitude, where the structure itself turns inward, embracing the idea of seclusion. Strategic use of barriers like landscaping, walls, and enclosed courtyards ensures privacy without sacrificing the connection to the natural environment. Large windows and skylights are utilized selectively, allowing for natural light to flood into the private spaces, while external views will remain controlled and focused on the internal courtyard or secluded waterbody.

About the client:

“The client, an introvert who finds happiness within the close bonds of their family, seeks a home that mirrors these values. They envision a space that is luxurious yet designed to offer privacy and solitude, creating an environment of tranquility and exclusivity.

Editor’s Note: “This Punjab home design effortlessly blends classic and modern architectural elements, creating a serene and captivating atmosphere. The brick lattice screens, Juliet windows, and chic details elevate the design while maintaining a refined and streamlined approach. Inside, modern sophistication meets cultural artistry, making the interiors a true testament to timeless elegance.” ~Simran Khare

Blend of Modern and Classical Architecture

The style of architecture of this Punjab home design is a blend of modern and classical elements. The clean lines, large glass windows, and symmetrical design are characteristic of modern architecture, while the columns and decorative features add a classical touch. The neutral colour palette, use of natural materials like wood, and structured landscaping complement the elegant, upscale feel of the building. The brick lattice screens create a unique texture and pattern. These screens offer privacy while still allowing light and airflow, adding both function and visual interest to the façade.

Juliet windows and façade treatment

This exterior design of this Punjab home exudes a sense of modern elegance with classic touches. The stone façade adds texture and a timeless appeal, while the black wrought iron railing gives it a refined, upscale look. The dark shutters and window trim contrast nicely against the light stone and neutral tones of the building, enhancing the structure’s character.

Entrance Foyer

The contrast between the dark doors and ceiling with the lighter walls and floors creates a striking visual balance. The double-height entryway gives a grand and open impression, while the light fixture adds a modern touch to the otherwise classic design. The use of clean lines and minimalistic yet elegant wall mouldings complements the space’s polished look. The marble flooring with the geometric design adds a sense of opulence. Overall, the design feels elegant, modern, and refined.

Kitchen

The kitchen has a clean, open layout with a neutral colour palette, primarily whites and light tones, which helps create a spacious and bright atmosphere. The use of marble or marble-look surfaces for the countertops and backsplash adds a luxurious touch, while the black accents (such as the window frames and decorative lines on the floor) provide a striking contrast.

The bar stools have a sculptural, artistic quality, and the integration of natural light through large windows further enhances the inviting and airy feel of the space. Overall, the kitchen combines traditional design elements (like the paneling on the walls) with contemporary finishes for a balanced, upscale aesthetic.

Intricately Detailed Interiors

A standout feature is the large painting of a whirling dervish, adding a cultural and spiritual dimension to the design. The painting is framed in a dark wood that complements the other wooden elements in the room. Moreover, including a console table adorned with a mix of modern and traditional decorative objects.

The furniture maintains a clean, streamlined aesthetic, with a cream-coloured, cylindrical bolster bench as a focal point. Thus, providing both function and elegance. The marble floor enhances the luxurious atmosphere. Meanwhile, the overall design emphasizes openness and harmony, creating a tranquil and inviting space.

Tranquil and Serene Planning

The bedroom windows face the internal courtyard with a relaxing waterbody. Thus, providing a serene and private retreat away from the bustling street. Moreover, this layout ensures the space remains secluded and tranquil, perfectly aligned with the client’s introverted nature. Thus, allowing them to enjoy solitude and peace without external distractions.

This interior is a perfect example of modern sophistication fused with cultural artistry. Thus, making it both visually appealing and deeply meaningful.
