  • Achieving All The Modern Amenities In The Neo Classical Home | Axiom design Studio

The brief of the neo classical home was simple but challenging. The client wanted to retain the old structure and yet fulfil all the requirements of all three generations who were to live in the house. He wanted to achieve all the modern amenities in the house and, in contrast, give an overall neo-classical look to the Bungalow.

The Neo-Classical design style is elegant and timeless, making it a popular choice for both traditional and modern homes. Here we made a conscious effort to keep the theme in touch with all the modernity a home of this day requires. Keeping the overall theme the same, they have designed different areas of the house with distinct approaches to suit individual personalities.

Achieving All The Modern Amenities In The Neo Classical Home | Axiom design Studio

    Design Concept

A builder previously constructed the project with typical planning and an inadequate structure, but it has been unexpurgated and transformed into a modern-day residence. It also has a double-height drawing room, a duplex staircase, and whatnot, thanks to its rigorous planning and deliberate structural design.

The most important requirement was to achieve double height, which led to dismantling the slab of a 20-year-old structure to get the desired double height. Achieving this was not only a cumbersome process but also required a lot of structure, study, and skill.

    Double Height

The double height achieved in the residence virtually connects the social areas of the house. Moreover, the duplex staircase connects the two floors and promotes integration.

The retention of the old structure again presented itself as a challenge in terms of the less heights of the building. Planning a ductable HVAC System became very difficult and maintaining the solid void ratio was important, a smart ceiling system was developed to provide maximum heights in interiors so that the Grandeur can be maintained.

    Neo Classical Theme

The bungalow is designed on a neo-classical theme, taking its ingenuity from the mid-century era, where the facade has been characterised by several features, be it the grand scale of the elements, cornice details, dramatic columns, or exclusive detailing in the façade stone.

Neoclassicism is more characterized by the whole scale revival of the entire and often grand scale classical volumes along with a carefully picked material palettes with Indian stones and earthy colors.

The residence runs on a rather open plan where we have end to end vision from the center of the house.

The last floor has been differently designed from overall house yet leans towards the theme which acts as the spine of the bungalow.
