  • The Glass Front Facade Articulated The Benefits of Natural Light | The Hippodrome Setting

Embarking on an architecture project is a journey, albeit one faced with challenges that demand creativity, patience, and effective communication. In the context of our recent project, several hurdles emerged, each requiring thoughtful consideration and resolution. The front facade made of glass articulated the benefits of natural light, enhanced ventilation, and immersive views of the verdant surroundings.

Editor’s Note: Hippodrome Setting’s mesmerising facade is adorned with lush vegetation and takes advantage of the natural light and ventilation. It has a light-weight form that is raised above ground, creating spaces that merge the interior and exterior spaces. The interiors are spacious with minimal furniture and decor, with emphasis given to the greenery and nature. – Gopika Pramod

The Glass Front Facade Articulated The Benefits of Natural Light | The Hippodrome Setting

    Preserving the Canopy:

One of the primary challenges we encountered was to safeguard the existing trees surrounding the site. Beyond the structural aspects of the design, we had to consciously integrate the flora into our plans, ensuring minimal disruption to the natural environment. Striking a delicate balance between progress and preservation demanded meticulous attention to detail.

    Persuading for a Transparent Facade:

The insistence on a front facade comprised entirely of glass presented a distinctive challenge in convincing our client of its architectural significance. This was not just design prowess but also effective communication.

Bridging the divide between aesthetic vision and practical concerns necessitated thorough presentations and engaging dialogues to instill confidence in our client regarding the transformative potential of this bold design choice.

    Navigating Vastu Considerations:

Incorporating Vastu requirements into the architectural blueprint added an additional layer of complexity. Beyond mere design principles, we had to immerse ourselves in understanding and respecting our client’s cultural and spiritual beliefs.

Harmonizing the design with Vastu principles demanded meticulous attention to orientation, placement, and spatial organization, ultimately yielding a space that not only pleased the eye but also resonated with the client’s sentiments.

Crafting an Open Plan in a Compact Space:

The challenge of creating an open plan within the confines of a 30X40 site, surrounded by residential properties, posed a puzzle that required multiple iterations.

Navigating zoning restrictions and maintaining privacy while prioritizing light, ventilation, and fluid movement patterns demanded a delicate choreography of architectural elements.

This iterative process, though time-consuming, ultimately resulted in a harmonious and efficient spatial arrangement that maximized the potential of the limited footprint.

In overcoming these challenges, we not only enriched our architectural acumen but also forged stronger bonds with our clients. Each obstacle became an opportunity for innovation and collaboration, contributing to the creation of a space that not only met the functional needs of its occupants but also resonated with the beauty of its natural and cultural context.
