  • A Sample House That Embraces Spanish and Traditional Design | Design Studio Associates

Spanish theme on the outside and traditional design from the inside defines this sample house located in Vadodara.

Courtyard Luxuria is a residential site in the form of a sample house located in Vadodara. It appears to have a unique consideration for its stance compared to its surrounding. The exterior is an impressive execution of Spanish themed design, with the corbelling, semi sloping roof and sconces. There is a structured language that is followed in the elevation which is then mirrored forward. The proportions are presented well, in a way that suggests the maturity and sincerity of the design. Plus, the interiors are soaked in calmness with an occasional insert of art and craft. The foyer graces in the presence of a studded corner where colors and patterns collide on the beautiful wallpaper behind on the wall. A customized console table greets you upon entering.

Editor’s Note: Stepping into the Spanish-themed home is a magical journey, teleporting to distant realms and reconnecting in a split second, making one appreciate Indian culture from a new perspective. The corbelling and scones give this Vadodara home a warm and welcoming appeal, while the serene whites and greys douse the interiors. The murals and wainscots seamlessly personify the royalty of Indian palaces, yet in a minimalist fashion. – Gopika Pramod

    The gilded living room

As one steps in, the authenticity of the room is obvious. With multiple styles portrayed here, it embraces white and gray complexion. Further, the furnishings have a classical taste, paired with traditional prints as artwork.

A section of wall shows 3D wall panelling in gray that compliments the marble piece at the centre. It faces a T.V unit with a compelling MDF moulding. It measures spaciousness which is further accentuated by plush selections that bind the seating space.

    The savory spaces

Adjacent to the living, lies dining area that is open to the kitchen. A hinged lighting piece encapsulates the dining space that seats four. An intimate spread of natural linen, wooden frame and stone additionally crafts the dining table.

The kitchen embraces a darker tone of medium gray paired with black duco paint shutters. This actually sets the kitchen apart from the rest of the space.

It has a neo-contemporary feel to it that interestingly gels well along with other styles that prevails the space. Again, the continuation of cornice ceiling suggests a union with the living area.

    The guest bedroom

The ground floor also houses a guest bedroom that truly showcases modest and effective design at its best. The color co-ordination of white and light gray speaks volume of simplicity. Cane and MDF heighten the value of this space.

The back of the bed contains fine-tuned details. The side table follows the similar color palette. The television set up is adorned with minute fluted panelling dipped in white.

    Medieval modern room

Coming on to the master bedroom on the first floor, there is an addition to the color spread. A delightful hue of red accompanies grey and white shades. With a framed bed set giving a medieval charm, this room is immersed in a decorative vibe.

The head wall over the bed sees a framed panelling induced with wallpaper in the middle. The space is sealed with a chandelier hanging overlooking the bed from top. The gentle light from the blinds strokes in to highlights these elements affectionately.

    An ethnic conform

A holy color of Indigo and white reins the bedroom. A patterned fabric lining the box bed covers the bed and establishes an artistic mood.

With patterns of Indigo on either side of the bed and a frame of Kutch painting on the adjacent wall, it sets a traditional tone that promises to engage one within.

    Entertainment among a classical setting

Further, on the second floor an elegant family room is nooked. Following the same decorum of white and gray, the maroon chesterfield designed couches set the mood.

The central work of MDF panelling is truly sculptural with the ornamental light pendants on the side. Consequently, the entertainment unit that faces the seating has a waffled panelled in gray paired with a waffle ceiling in white.

    The last bedroom

The last bedroom is housed on the second floor where patterned textile resides soundly with the color white. Courtyard Luxuria as a sample house portrays subtle works of elegance and underrated sophistication.

With an exclusivity that tames the exteriors, the interiors are nothing but a haven for absolute serenity. Instances like these from Design Studio show why design matters and how it makes a difference.
