Nest – A brick house design in all its glory | era architects and associates
The ‘Nest’ aims to subtly transmit family values and beliefs to future generations. This project is exclusively designed, and customized for client Mr. Chirag Patel and his family (4 people in all). The house is built in Bodeli taluka, and it’s called mini Mumbai because of many businesses. The client preferred to live in town away from the hustle and bustle of the city life as the place offered a strong sense of community with peaceful environment.
Editor’s Note: With a facade that takes its artistic inspiration from the derivative of jaalis and bricks, the house shows its liking for carved surfaces. The grooved paneling takes precedence while the occasional splash of blue is very fresh. The private spaces tell a personal story of character, persona and tastes. ~ Nishal Sevak
In the ever-evolving world of architectural design, a remarkable trend has emerged – the fusion of modernity and timeless charm through exposed brickwork and natural terracotta jail bricks. This residence that beautifully incorporates the rustic allure of exposed brick, creating a harmonious blend of old-world warmth and contemporary elegance.
The main entrance door is a major highlight of the house including a safety door in a striking metal cutting work. Inside foyer has a veneer paneling around the door extended to living room with a deer figure embossed in MDF and PU finish. This serves as the centerpiece of the house which showcases welcoming ambiance.
What sets this living room apart is the idea of creating a living space that breathes – the space that is both fresh and inviting. When you enter into this inviting living space your attention naturally gravitates towards the TV wall.
The flooring – Italian natural stone embraces the overall, tranquility and balance of the living area which is a perfect retreat for relaxation and entertainment.
The kitchen space is easy to use, fun to cook and socialize in. It has the color white stone top and contrasting it against grey acrylic glossy laminates that is easy to clean and scratch-free. The breakfast table acts as an imaginary partition between kitchen and dining space.
Here the dining space makes a statement and leaves a lasting impression, but also evoke conversation and represent the personality of the homeowner. The color palette, artwork, and the hanging light in the space add a more personalized dining experience.
To give our client a deeper sense of meaning and context, we transformed the connected wall into a captivating work of art with design engraved in mdf material finished with textured on it. This also enhanced the volume of the stair well. The decorative panel on the wall are also enlighten with lights.
This parent’s room is a minimal, modern yet regal approach. It makes a bold statement with its abstract pattern deep and embossed on backdrop of bed and the panel for the TV unit finished with very subtle sea green color. Natural veneer layers the furniture selections.
The daughter’s bedroom is the epitome of feminine energy. The mid-century and modern era designs fuse to reflect the beauty of the masterpiece. It speaks a lot about her likes, dislikes, personality and way of life.
The design of this bedroom radiates vibrant and energy. The teen son’s bedroom needed to have a modern and playful vibes to it. He is passionate about cars so we incorporated the bed back in such a way that represents love for his collection.
The master bedroom finds itself in the south-west corner of the house and boosts a unique identity. The Master’s bedroom is delightfully decorated in rich grey, shades of blues and woody browns. At the head of the bed lies PU finished mdf art work, while the use of highlighting aqua blue color adds a different look and beautiful allure to the space.
The home theatre area accommodates all the close family and friends. The screening room balances the grand and relaxed moments that are theatrical. To absorb the sound, acoustic panels are incorporated into the design in a way that it casts a highlighting wall panels.
The unit is made with a backdrop in white solid surface. The Mdf panel with grooves enhances the embossed Lotus abstract petals. Backlighting gives the feel of elegance and purity.
