Editor’s note : “Rising gracefully, the bungalow stands as a tribute to classical architecture, adorned with symmetrical columns and meticulously crafted embellishments. Its opulent interiors exude a luxurious aura while maintaining a serene ambience. The presence of patterned tiles and a coffered ceiling adds a dash of flair to the overall well-balanced design. As everything harmoniously comes together, the project prompts contemplation on the potential infusion of further Western influences into India’s rich and diverse architectural tapestry.” ~ Venessa Thomas (Co-Editor)

The house embraces its corner plot advantage by embracing the park with an array of fenestrations. These carefully placed windows not only invite abundant natural light but also offer picturesque views of the green surroundings, creating an atmosphere of tranquility.

As one steps inside this neo-classical house, a sense of timeless beauty envelops the space. The interior design reflects the classic principles of symmetry, proportion, and balance.

High ceilings adorned with decorative moldings create an atmosphere of spaciousness, while large windows invite ample natural light, infusing the rooms with warmth and a connection to the outdoors.

White Alberta flooring, a hallmark of neo-classical architecture, graces the living areas, adding an element of luxury.

The house is designed for a family of five, with the ground floor designed as the main space for the family to get together and the first floor is primarily for the bedrooms.

We tried to keep the material palette for the house very timeless in its nature, with white marble and teak wood complimenting materials like wicker and Pu finish cabinets. The fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary sensibilities creates a unique aesthetic that is both sophisticated and inviting.

The second floor of the house opens into a terrace, surrounded by trees. The second floor is designed to be the main space for hosting guests with a bar and home theater space.

One of the defining characteristics of the house is its seamless integration of indoor and outdoor spaces. A grand double height staircase gives way to a huge 12 feet window opening into the neighboring park. Intimate balconies and terraces offer panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.
